Returning from a visit to Italy during which we enjoyed many wonderful meals we selected this restaurant for our last night. Big mistake. You really can't tell books - or restaurant - from covers. First impressions were positive - situated in a cellar with fine tableware, although the plastic frogs round the walls should have given us a clue to the owners' taste. We started with 'foie gras creme brulee' - not so much 'a taste tickler' as 'a stomach sickner'. It didn't get any better - eggs in a cream sauce, tough duck and a frozen supermarket-like dessert. Yet everything sounded so delicious on the menu and who would expect such dreadful food in one of the best-respected villages for wine. But not food obviously, well not here. The 'coup de foudre' came when they added 56 euros onto the bill - and removed it without a second glance when we noticed. Yuck - this restaurant has left a bad taste in the mouth. Try the Ibis next door.
