“Great food, traditional hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2012

Love the relaxed atmosphere, traditional music playing softly, and the care taken by the staff to get you exactly what you want. The meze will leave you very full if you can eat it, mainy meat based, ut you can have other dishe. A great place to book a table when the "Cyprus Night' is on (local dancing in costume).this assures you a good view and geat food too.

“lovely location for cyprus night on wednesdays”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

we ate here as a large group during the wednesday cyprus night. the entertainment was fantastic but the food was a let down. it was a buffet but they did not have much of a selection and the vegetarians in our party were left quite disappointed.

“good home cooked food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012

We had never eaten at the Pissouri Sq tavern in 7 years of visiting the village but we were impressed by it. Good service, simple food at a good price

“Home cooking at its best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2012

This place is lovely, and very simple and unpretentious. Waiting staff are friendly too. The place has a great atmosphere on a Wednesday night when they put on a traditional Cypriot show! A must see!

“Friendly Traditional Taverna”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2012

A family run taverna owned and managed by husband and wife team Aristos and Yoda Foutas who are pleasant hosts. I have eaten at the Pissouri Square Tavern on numerous occasions over the last 10 years. This holiday we only ate their once as other tavernas in the village and in the Bay offer more variety and atmosphere. Prices have crept up over time and the taverna no longer offers the same value for money as previously. Meat is well-cooked but only chips and rice are served as accompaniments, The menu absolutely lacks fresh vegetables. Pork chops are enormous as they are in many tavernas in the area. This taverna sadly is in a time-warp and must move with the times if it is to survive, Crockery needs updating - no more plastic or metal plates please. Petros Foutas is sadly missed by all, his personality shone like a star, but his position as Executive Secretary on the Pissouri Council means he has no time to work in the family taverna. A pity for the taverna but great for the village!
