“Fun experience!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

We stopped on the side of the road, and although there's not much there, we really enjoyed these falls. The waterfall was close and you could get some good photos in front of it. There were a few fruit stands set up and some beggars trying to sell stones, etc. I say buy a few and support the local people! In addition to the beautiful waterfall, there were lots of monkeys running around which was good entertainment. One monkey grabbed a bag of fruit from a man's hand and ran away to eat it. My friend was sitting on the cement ledge and a monkey came very close to her; I was able to lean in and get a photo near the monkey. When we were walking back to the van, we got a monkey "show" if you know what I mean. It was a fun 45 minutes!

“Amazing falls”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

In the rainy season these falls are full and give a spectacular display. Well worth a visit. We visited the falls in April over the Tamil New Year so there were lots of locals at the falls. Be cautious of locals trying to give you rocks for good luck, they actually want money for them.

“Beautiful but only needs a quick visit”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013 via mobile

We were on our way into Ella and drove past the waterfall and stopped to take in the view. It's right by the side of the road so no real parking and cars all lined up.

It didn't really look like it was a place to stop swim, eat etc, just to quickly snap some shots of the water fall and the nearby monkey activity. I'm pleased we managed to combine with another journey rather than spend the money to go there specifically.

“Waterfall at side of road”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013

It is worth a quick stop to stretch your legs and admire the waterfall from the side of the road. As others have said there are plenty of hawkers trying to sell you stones or trinkets. Easy enough to ignore.
