“One of the nicest hotels I have stayed in - anywhere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

I was fortunate to stay two weeks in this very enjoyable and well run hotel in a traditional Indian haveli (or palazzo as the Italians would say) which has been beautifully restored. It looks directly onto the Ganges - you can step into it from the hotel - and is just off the attractive and interesting main bazaar (no cars), and yet somehow manages to be quite quiet and peaceful (except for some distant music drifting over the river now and then).
The staff, at all levels, were exceptionally pleasant. The General Manager, Mr. Kuldip Saini, was always seeking to help and went far beyond what duty required in helping with some research I was doing. Front Desk, Krishna, Meegha and the others were equally helpful, and it went on like this right down to the hotel's own (complimentary) rickshaw service. Restaurant served delicious and varied Indian food, mainly buffet and again with charming service. There was even a (very nice and informative) Brahmin priest who will take you through the morning Homa (fire) ceremony at the river's edge. Room was well equipped and delightful in a traditional Indian way. And finally even the guests were a plus, interesting people from all over the world plus Indian families who have discovered this wonderful traditional place.

The Haveli hari Ganga was an incredibly comfortable home, far far away from home.
The evening musicians, the wonderful indian cuisine, the flowing layout of the haveli situated right on the river, all contributed to a wonderfully warm and enticingly relaxing feel to the hotel. The busy bustling city life around Haridwar has a perfect compliment in the soothing comforts of the Haveli. The staff went above and beyond to make sure that I had everything I needed and felt cared for, by the end of a 4 day stay they all felt like sweet friends. If I were to return this is the only place I'd like to stay. Enjoy!

Room Tip: I chatted with lots of people staying in the Haveli and I felt my room was probably the best but th...

This is a very good place to stay away from the bustle of Haridwar. The rooms with a
Ganges view are very spacious . The staff are very friendly and the food is excellent. You don't miss the alcohol. The lime sodas and the lassi are very good.

Room Tip: Chose a room with a Ganges view

We had been to Haridwar&Rishikesh as a family. We chose this hotel after lot of research in the internet.

The lane leading to the hotel (your car cant reach the hotel!), that too travelling by rickshaw, was quite misleading. The moment you enter the hotel, it makes you forget the rickshaw travel!

Actually it is a old palace(haveli) converted in to hotel. Very spacious rooms, with lot of old world charms. Superb food. Very conveniently located for the Hari ka Pauri (Ganga Aarti). Very helpful staff. Private bathing area in Ganges attached to hotel.

Small irritant - found few cockroaches in the room!

Room Tip: Any room is as good as others. Though there are few rooms which open into terrace. The terrace is fa...

To the wonderfull Haveli Ganga Staff ,

This was our first stop on the Himalaya Journey that I organized this year.
arriving in at the Havely we all received a welcome Rudraksa Mala ,which let us feel extremely fortunate and at home.
The Haveli Ganga is the most fabulous place stunning location , marvelous building and specially, best service attitude.
I have never seen a place with such a high standard of service attitude.
every single day of the 5 days that we stay there ,we where surprised and astonished by how they try ( and do ! ) to please the guests
as the Indian Motto says : "The Guest is treated like God visiting your Home" .
I been visiting India since 27 years but beside some unique Temples this Motto has been lost.
I can only suggest to everyone to visit and enjoy the uniqueness of HAVELI which could be called HEAVENLY.
please do not loose this service attitude, because its the path to HEAVEN.
Thanks you again and we look forward to visit you soon again.

Me and my husband had stayed for one day/night at Haveli and it was one of the best hotels we have visited in India in recent times, especially for the price. The hotel is clean, tastefully decorated, food is great and the Ganges flowing right at the doorstep of the hotel is wonderful. The bhajan session at night created an aura of divinity. We loved the stay at the hotel and will be staying there again, whenever we go visiting Haridwar again!

Room Tip: Take the room at the top floor, facing the Ganges, it is undoubtedly the best. Huge rooms with an ev...

We visited Haridwar last week and had an extremely pleasant stay at Haveli Hari Ganga.

We arrived very early morning (and I really mean very early, for it was 3:45am when our train reached Haridwar) and received by the hotel staff Sonu at the station. After a quick transport to hotel, we were greated with "rudraksh" garlands and immediately given an extremely well appointed room overlooking holy ganges. Soon followed welcome drink, masala tea, yes at 4:00 in the morning. Amazing.

Hotel has a charm of history with matching decor and modern amenities. It is close to the Har Ki Pauri and a panditji comes each evening to facilitate smooth view of evening aarti. It is free of cost and he takes very good care of you amid the chaos that prevails there. Very efficiently he took us to the front to have a close view of the ritual, keep a watch in case of any need, personally returned the shoes at the end from the very busy counter where you must leave your shoes. But if you really want to have the best view, you must be at the other side of the river and be there really early and wait for the ceremony.

Food was excellent. It was vegetarian yet had plentiful choice of tasty dishes.

A trip to Rishikesh was arranged and we enjoyed it.

Hotel is right in the midst of busy market area and literally oasis amid chaos.

The evering ghazals at the hotel courtyards, a very nice touch to create a different atmosphere, enjoyed immensely by us.

They have rickshaws to take you from/back to station or parking area by courteous staff.

Overall a very pleasant and comfortable stay. Must thank Kuldeep for his efficient and able leadership to orchestrate eavery details to ensure satisfaction of each guest.

Would definitely come back again.
