wow, what a great place to relax. accomodation top notch, food very delicious, staff ultra friendly and helpful. beach gorgeous, swimming pool huge and private plunge pools even better!
perfect end to our honeymoon, thanks to everyone at the baraza. this place is truly stunning. want to go back now!

Room Tip: rooms sat further away from the beach are more private, opt for an ocean view villa rather than ocea...

Lets get the only negative out first ---its expensive and for most of us only for special occasions. We selected to relax after a safari and stone town( as had many others) and it was perfect. The rooms are fantastic, the service was outstanding and the layout means you have plenty of space by the pool beach or whatever you fancy. The beach is interesting as you can walk out to the reef at low tide and its very pleasant for a stroll albeit there's not alot to see
Its an all inclusive resort but top end for quality with plenty of selection on food --which varies between buffet style and normal menu's and decent wine and the management are visible and nothing is too much trouble. We had 6 nights which was for us about right --however we did have lunch at a restaurant called the rock just up the coast --you have to take a small boat and the views are wonderfull.

Room Tip: they are all good but if you get the option at no extra cost go for the 2 bedroom one's

We have just come back from our second stay at The Baraza. Last year we had one week and at the end of that visit we immediately rebooked for this year for a full 2 weeks. The Resort itself is stunning, the buildings are all well maintained and make a big contribution to the relaxing atmosphere. The staff are exceptional, from the gardeners, housekeepers, waiters and managers - it is obvious that they all work together to ensure that every visitor feels welcome and special which they all do with enthusiasm and grace. They all seem to be able to read minds - offering you just the right thing moments before you thought you wanted it!! The villas are beautifully appointed with their own 'dip' pools, terrace, loungers and gardens as and incredibly spacious - our beachfront villa gave us the most breathtaking view of the beach and ocean every morning. Quite simply Baraza is faultless whether you are looking for a family holiday - there are plenty of water sports, a honeymoon the most romantic of settings, or a complete break to just unwind Baraza must be one of the top resorts in the world. We are already planning our third trip in 2014.

Room Tip: All the villas are fabulous but obviously the beach front is the best option

We arrived in Zanzibar following five days on Safari and this was the perfect hotel to relax and unwind in. The setting was beautiful and our villa was better than we expected. It is without doubt the most luxurious hotel we have had the pleasure of staying in.

The food was simply incredible and every meal was always a great experience. The staff were very welcoming particularly Katarina who could not do enough to ensure we were happy.

The beach/swimming pool were great although we did not use the pool much as could be difficult to get a seat whilst we were there. This was no issue as we preferred to be on the beach where it was cooler. The spa was also excellent and definitely worth a visit.

All in all we had an amzing week here and would love to go back in the future for another break in paradise! Thanks to all the staff there who made it a perfect finale to our honeymoon!

What can I say - what a wonderful hotel. Stayed here for two nights in September and it was just dreamy , the villa was beautiful . The staff at the hotel are all very keen to help in any way they can to make your stay unforgettable in the most positive way .
It was my 50th birthday and this was my "get away " so I didn't have to party and did not want any fuss . However the hotel knew it was my birthday ( my husband has been forgiven now !!!!!)and in the most wonderful way the staff all gathered around me with a fantastic cake and sang Hakuna Matata and Happy birthday - it was lovely . The food, accommodation, swimming pool and the beach were all superb . I would highly recommend this hotel.

On checking out - I was also presented with some gifts from the hotel - what a lovely touch . This hotel made my 50th birthday very memorable when before I had always thought I would like to forget this date .

Once again a massive thank you to each member of staff for a great stay. Will be back !

My husband and i stayed at Baraza in September this year following a safari. We had seen the pictures and were looking forward to our stay but nothing could have compared to our surprise and delight when we arrived: our ocean-front villa was just beautiful, and we couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. We made full use of the sun loungers and plunge pool outside the villa in the mornings, and enjoyed the loungers reserved on the beach for our use during the afternoon. On our last day we spent some time around the pool and enjoyed our time there too.

We can't say enough about how wonderful the staff were - everyone from Nash who showed us around the hotel and to our room and was our personal contact during our stay to the spa staff, cleaners, gardeners... they were all so friendly and accommodating. We saw the most of the restaurant staff during our meals at the three different restaurant/eating areas - at times it was almost like you had 1:1 attention though it was never intrusive; it simply felt as though we received outstanding service the whole time we were there.

I'm a coeliac so cannot eat gluten and advised Baraza before travelling - it is the best hotel/restaurant i have ever been to with regards to the care and attention they gave me. Every morning at breakfast they made my choice of pancakes on arrival and brought them to the table with maple syrup; at every meal i was given freshly-baked bread and the also made brownies for me to try. The restaurant manager spent time walking me round the meal choices during the buffet nights to clarify which foods i wasn't able to eat (though the majority of food was made without flour so i had lots of choice) and during the served evening meals, the chef/s made my meal gluten free so that i could enjoy the full range of food on offer.

The bed was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in, the huge bathroom and dressing area are great and we made use of the indoor and outdoor day beds when the sun got too much for a short while. This is such a beautiful place and hotel but the people (staff and management/owners) really set this hotel above everywhere else we have stayed.

We would never normally choose to return to a hotel, instead thinking that we should try somewhere new for our next trip, but i would return to Baraza in a second and i know that i would have the most amazing stay.

Room Tip: We stayed in an ocean front villa and thought they had the best location
