This restaurant was just in the most idyllic spot - overlooking the beach (a proper white beach with little development or crowds, striking contrast with tourist Mecca Nungwi up north) - that even if the food had been terrible I would still have given Green and Blue three stars. I was just so pleased that the food outstripped even the perfect surroundings - the menu was incredible, changed frequently, used local dishes, ingredients and influences, looked after vegetarians and achieved a truly astronomical standard of food without seeming to even try. Service was fantastic and quick / friendly and the wine was excellent.
Breakfast amounted to a spiritual experience, the pool is just beautiful and the place was so easy to get to - even the drive up from town (by dala dala for added cultural adventurousness / and a little backcramp) was worth doing. So much effort has gone into making all this happen that I was even thanking the management for allowing me the privilege of coming (actually got a little embarrassing for me at one stage)
Five stars and at the top of the bracket. Highlight of the trip.
