“Great food, good portions, decent price and tables on the beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

During our week on Zanzibar we ate at Wave's 3 times after we were a bit disappointed with the portions at Flametree Cottages. Wave's has tables with candles on the beach. So it's really nice to sit right by the ocean and under the stars. The menu is very varied (most of it Western food) with soups, pasta, pizza, meat and fish dishes, currys, shakes, sweet things and drinks of course. There is a happy hour between 6pm and 8pm were prices for some drinks are reduced by about 1000 Tsh.
We had the crab - bean soup for 5000Tsh, the red snapper fillet for 12000 and the chicken curry for 12000. The food comes with some vegetables, rice and fries but you have can also have either. As said the portions are big and the food very rich and good. The waiter are also very attentive and speak quite good English.
Enjoy!!

“Tasty Italian food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2012

We found this nice little restaurant by chance (on the beach next to Flame Tree Cottages). Their Italian food was really very good - much better than anyhing we ate at Doubletree by Hilton where we stayed.

“Stumble on the Beach”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2012

Our family went to visit this place two nights in a row. The first night, we had the grilled lobster and the shrimp curry. Both were fabulous and fresh, (but the shrimp were a little small). The service was a little slow, but it was relaxing to enjoy the sounds of the beach. Since we went to visit during low season, I am not sure how this place would compare for service when it is busier.

The next night, our family had king fish, pasta, lobster curry, and the grilled lobster. Our second experience was not as good as the night before. The king fish was not as fresh as what we experienced at our hotel that day for lunch, the pasta was bland, and the lobster was overcooked.

Overall, I would recommend this place to eat but being selective what you order. Because we went during low season, there were not many food options that were open. Since we walked along the beach, I am not sure how easy it is to find or get to this place from the street.

“Nice place with good food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2012 via mobile

Probably the best place to dine when you are in Nungwi. Good food, very helpful staff and cosy atmosphere.
