We loved being at Shibula, were made very welcome and enjoyed excellent service, good food and excellent game viewing with a knowledgeable guide. The well appointed, spacious and luxurious rooms exceeded our expectations and were better than we had experienced at other lodges.

My wife and i stayed here a few years ago, and we both agree it was the best holiday we have ever had. The lodge was luxurious in the middle of the reserve compound and the hospitality, food, guides knowledge as well as the experience of the Big 5 was superb.

We cannot wait for our daughters to be old enough to return on safari and we absolutely will be heading for Shibula and its so fantastic atmosphere and the up close to wildlife experience.

Room Tip: If the opportunity for a private safari is presented - GRAB it!

We had an amazing 6-night stay at Shibula lodge. This 5* Lodge deserves every star to its maximum. The service of the whole staff was terrific, the personal attention felt very sincere. David and Frans thank you for that.

The food was more than excellent. It was unbelievable that there was a different menu every day. One person in our party is vegetarian, they did not forget once and the vegetarian alternatives were great. Thanks to Nora, Salome and Johannes.

We have stayed in the family suite (room 6&7, 2 bedrooms), which looks as it came right out of a magazine, having our own swimming pool on our terrace, with a view over the bush. The rooms were modern, yet fitted perfectly in the surroundings. It had everything you could think of and was very comfortable.

Last but not least, the game drives were great; we have seen the Big Five, which is quite special. Simon was our ranger and besides his knowledge about the animals, he made the game drives fun. The specials he had arranged during our stay were amazing. He truly made our stay unforgettable.

We would definitely recommend Shibula Lodge and can't wait to go back.

This was my first time on a game reserve and I enjoyed it immensely all the staff and our guide were very nice and helpful. The lodge catered for all our needs from hot water bottles on the game drives to a wonderful selection of food. One particular detail which I enjoyed was our guide’s wide knowledge of the animals and plants which he imparted with us, adding a certain depth to the trip other than just going to see the animals.

A friendly reception.
Luxurious and secluded rooms with an outdoor hot tub.
Excellent meals and a nice atmosphere in the common room.
And no fence, so you look through the door before you open it.
And a wonderful driver / guide who will find unusual spots and not quite so common - or visible - wildlife for you (William).
Altogether an experience I would not want to miss.

I chose Shibula Lodge & Bush Spa as destination for an incentive we recently held. We were 6 ladies who visited Shibula Lodge from Friday 19 to Sunday 21 July.
We had a fantastic, relaxing time in the bush! The lodge and rooms were neat and really comfortable, the food was delicious, the staff were extremely friendly and ensured we were treated in 5-star manner from the minute we arrived. The spa treatments were amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed our ranger, William, who went out of his way to make our time special. He was professional, extremely knowledgeable and entertained us with jokes and amazing stories about the bush. We thank Shibula Lodge for making our incentive weekend extra special! You guys were great, keep up the good work! Looking forward to seeing you again in future ...

Room Tip: The jacuzzi was a winner in the winter
