This delightful venue must have one of the best positions and views in the world – if you like peace, a wide river and lots of trees. It is a bit of a drive out in the bush but well worth it being situated in the middle of a National Park. Parking is a little inconvenient and in busy times leaving your car on the nearest road leaves you with a fair walk of some 5 minutes and may involve a bit of an incline. Not entirely easy if one has an elderly guest, wheelchairs would be very hard. This is the price you pay for a beautiful, quiet and picturesque setting. Some guests arrive on a seaplane from other areas of Sydney.
Bookings are essential, the restaurant is not overly large, try and get a table next to a window to take advantage of the views and breezes. Outdoor settings are available on the deck but in summer can be very glary and hot. The menu is first class and quality and sample size of food always very good. One can have a Degustation menu or select from a variety of quality innovative dishes. It is not cheap but for special occasions well worth the visit. Vegetarians, as one of our guests were, are well catered for unlike many restaurants. The wine list is varied and the wait staff very helpful with their advice. All in all, a great visit. We have been a number of times over the years and have never been disappointed. A great place for a lunchtime celebration or evening meal especially with daylight saving times.
