After driving up from Cromwell we decided that lunch was in order prior to our journey over the Royal Pass. Lake Bar looked convenient so we stopped for lunch. Good choice. I had the chowder and my wife, Nancy, opted for the BLTA (bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado). My chowder was warm and filled with pieces of white fish and fresh mussels. Broth was tasty without being too creamy. Difficult to finish such a big bowl, but I managed.
Nancy's BLTA was huge and came with chips(French fries). Managed to get a bite or two; excellent.
Nancy had a drink and I tried the local ale recommended by the server/owner. Very friendly and helpful with directions.
Great meal and great view. Would recommend highly.
