“Luxurious accomodation nestled in a hilltop vineyard”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2011

My daughters and I stayed for 2 nights at this wonderful B&B situated on the outskirts of Wanaka. The views are magnificent and the trails around the lake are great for walkers and joggers alike. Hosts Mike and Carla provide a welcoming and luxurious stay serving gourmet breakfasts with excellent coffee!

This was definitely the best B & B we stayed at during our recent visit to New Zealand. It has everything. It's very comfortable and quiet with a wonderful view across Lake Wanaka to mountains, with the owners' vineyard in the foreground. The hosts, Mike and Carla, are very friendly and attentive to detail and very good cooks. Breakfasts there were most delicious. Mike and Carla were extremely helpful regarding day-time activities and gave great recommendations for places to eat in the evening. The walk they recommended up the Rob Roy Valley was one of the most enjoyable walks my husband and I have done. Very highly recommended.

This is a beautiful and modern house surrounded by a small vinyard on the outskirts of Wanaka. The setting is ideal with jaw-dropping views and access to great walking and hiking trails. It is very quiet and peaceful and situated close enought to walk into town if you are energetic and with plenty of parking if you are not.

Rooms are large and spacious with great showers and ensuite bathrooms. The warm and welcoming hosts are very knowledgeable about the history of the area and will serve you excellent home-made cooking featuring locally sourced ingredients. Romantic and perfect for an extended stay.

A modern spacious home with a large garden and a magnificent view over the lake and mountains with friendly and welcome from Carla and Mike. Good advice on local attractions restaurants etc and a wonderful breakfast using freshly picked garden fruit. Plenty of space in a very well furnished bedroom with a large bed that was very comfortable. Only a short walk along the lake to the centre of town but far enough from the centre to be peaceful. A highlight for us was Mikes enthusiasm for his vines and his explanations of the practical aspects of growing your own grapes.

We stayed with Carla & Mike at Beaconfiled B&B for one night during our honeymoon trip.
They have the most beautiful place set on a hillside among their own vineyard with a fantastic view of Lake Wanaka.
We enjoyed their warm hospitality and the comfort of the beautiful room. This was one of the best beds we slept in during our trip and we slept in 18 different beds :-).
Carla and Mike were very helpful with suggestions for dinner and what to do in the area.
The breakfast was also very good, especially the homemade muesli and the freshly baked muffins!
If you are looking for a special, warm and friendly place to stay in Wanaka this should be your first choice!

The Beaconfield B & B is beautiful and situated on a hill overlooking the lake and the beautiful mountains. They have a lovely garden and provide all you could want for a comfortable and restful stay. Carla is also a wonderful cook. They are well traveled and have advice to offer if requested.
