“BEST B & B WE HAVE BEEN AT !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013

My wife and I stayed at BEACONFIELD on our trip from the USA. The owner/operators Mike and Carla were both warm, friendly, and focused on our enjoying our stay not only at their B & B but in the town of Wanaka and the whole of NZ. To that end they we the perfect host and hostess during our stay.
They were always willing to share an interesting story or help us in making a decision with their local knowledge. Of course, they were equally interested in our experiences and past.
The entire home and our room was clean, modern, tasteful, comfortable, and welcoming.
The breakfast was fresh, abundant, and appealing to various tastes. If you want to really enjoy yourself at breakfast ask Mike to prepare his "speciality"... it is a work of art in itself.
I would stay here without a doubt even if I had to go out of my way to do so.
If you have a choice...DON'T MISS THIS ONE!

We had a lovely stay with Carla and Mike for 5 nights! They were such great hosts, fed us and our two little kids with healthy and delicious homemade breakfasts (by Mike) every day. Carla's lovely raisin buns went down extremely well with the kids too. My daughter loved the fresh raspberries from Mike and Carla's garden, we even had the privilege of a private tour of the garden to help pick them (those were the best raspberries we have ever tasted!)
A lovely place with a superb picturesque view of the lake and the mountains from the living room. The bedrooms were comfortable and overall, a truly homely stay! An additional thanks to Mike and Carla for the bottle of Beaconfield Estates pinot noir.

Picture yourself gently awakening, warm and cosy. You open the draperies and the sun pierces through, revealing the mountains, the lake, the vineyard. Is this heaven? As you hop in the shower, the stone pebbles under your feet make you feel the nature, the refreshment and you enjoy the pleasure. And then, breakfast still has to come... served and prepared by a couple as lovely as the place they are living in. Real Kiwi friendliness moves the morning into the day and you can be on your way with a memory to cherish!

Can't think of a better place to spend one (or more) night(s) on your honeymoon!

Friendly & helpful hosts in a lovely spot with views to die for. Walking distance to the lake and walkways. Epic breakfast. Highly recommended and makes a nice change from the usual hotel experience. Would definitely stay again. Thanks Mike & Carla.

What a great place! We were only able to spend one night with Mike and Carla, but it provided the perfect spot to recharge our batteries on our long road trip. The view over the lake is absolutely wonderful and our hosts' suggestions for dining in Wanaka ensured we had an unforgettable evening there. Our breakfast was delicious and set us up well for the final leg of our journey. Thanks again and hope to spend longer next time!

Everything about this place is wonderful! From the small touches (gourmet chocolate bars on the night stands) to the grounds, every last detail has been executed with perfection. Our room was modern, nicely decorated, and extremely clean. The bed was plush and comfortable, which allowed us to wake up well-rested and refreshed. The views from our room and common area were simply stunning and even better than expected. Our hosts, Carla and Michael, were friendly, professional, and polished. For breakfast, Michael prepared a wonderful, fresh, hot breakfast of eggs, toast, and avacados. It may sound simple, but it was prepared with perfection and was our favorite breakfast during our 15 day stay in NZ. Before the hot breakfast, we were treated to a variety of homemade muesli and muffins (yum, Carla!). Oh and I can't forget the coffee!!!! It was so good, that my husband and I are convinced we now need the same machine and beans for home. Our only regret was not staying longer. Thank you Michael and Carla for making our time in Wanaka so memorable.

I was travelling around NZ South Island on my own from the UK and came across this charming and beautiful B&B run by Carla and Mike who are very warm and genuine people. They made me feel very welcome in their beautiful home, my ensuite was 5 star quality and the breakfast was healthy, home baked and cooked food who could ask for more!
The house is situated in a quiet residential area and the views from the bedroom and lounge are stunning, looking out to the lake and surrounding mountains.
I would highly recommend this as a place to stay and will certainly visit again should I find myself down under.

Room Tip: There are only 2 rooms and both are perfectly situated
