“out standing!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

I have been on many jet boats over the years from the bay of islands , waikato river , shotover and the saint lawrence river rapids in Montreal , and i can say without a doubt,
that if you want a jet boat experience that is better than the rest and really gets to the heart of what these boats are made for in the first place you can't go passed WRJ .

That is start out in a large river that feeds lake Wanaka and travel up river till your in a stream and into the heart of Mount Aspiring National Park, and yes have some fun along the way . thats what these boats are all about not just fun but to get you into places that you can't get to any other way !

i travailed with them on Tuesday feb 2013 and from my journey and experience i can say that they really went out of the why to make shore that we all had a grate day with awesome memories ,

should i return to Wanaka with friends i will be taking them on a Wanaka River Journey for shore..

“Amazing.....not to be missed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013 via mobile

We were picked up from our B&B and driven through wonderful scenery to the river and our Jet Boat. Jason then gave us a safety briefing and we boarded the boat. We were then transported very skilfully along the river which was very shallow water in most places, at high speed which was very exciting. Along the way we stopped in some deep pools, which is where the "doughnuts" are performed to stop the boat. This is where spray and real fun is produced. At these stops Jason described the history of the area and at one point we disembarked for a short walk across a field to a waterfall and a creek. The whole experience was three hours and in our opinion not to be missed

“great fun!”

The organisation collected us from our lodgings and took us out to a jet boat wher 9 of us spent a happy half day speeding up the very shallow river which was exciting and fun. Not cheap, but worth while.

“Fun Way into the High Country”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

A short drive from the center of Wanaka took us to the Jet boat. The journey into the Mt Aspiring Wilderness provided some spectacular scenery. The boat trip in and out is at quite a high speed as the jet boat needs to travel on top of the water in order to cross the many shallow areas. The driver stops in some deeper pools to be able to fill you in on the history and geography of the area.

The gentle walk in the high alpine meadow half way through the trip gives the opportunity to stretch the legs, take photographs, drink from a fresh mountain stream, and chat with your driver.

Sunglasses will keep the wind out of your eyes. Hats need to be tied under the chin if you want to still have them by the end of the trip. A windproof jacket, waterproof on a rainy day, is useful. You are allowed to take a small backpack or camera bag onboard, and you certainly want to take your camera. Lifejackets are provided.

After returning down the river you transfer to a minibus for the trip back to Wanaka town center arriving about four to four and a half hours after leaving.

“Amazing views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

This trip is really nice and you get to explore both the adventure of jet boating and some amazing sceneries! The guide/skipper stopped a few times along the way and showed us special things. He was really good and friendly!
