“Nothing much to rave about”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2012 via mobile

Though it is the world's highest salmon farm, we were taken aback to see how small the shop is and the variety of fresh salmon sashimi that we can purchase. They ain't cheap and the way the sashimi was sliced was no-good. We should have gone to a Japanese restaurant for some sashimi instead.

“Great to catch you own!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2012

Novelty aspect is the "catch your own" salmon, even though it's almost impossible not to catch one as you drop your rod into the seething mass of fish. Kids enjoyed.

“Very delicious fresh salmon ever”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2012

On our way through Mackenzie Region to Lake Tekapo, we planned to check out the salmon farm. It was very cold and cloudy day. After passing Twizel -- look out for road sign. You won't miss it. If you have Hema Map -- NZ Touring Atlas, it was plotted on as one of the attractions! It was the best salmon sashimi ever. We bought some smoked salmon for salad and sandwiches. It was good. We recommend bringing along some rice, soy sauce and wasabi to make your own sushi.Just great fresh salmon -- well worth the trip.
