Very welcoming and friendly service of MOST of the staff at this resort, not including the restaurant staff.
I specifically booked a hotel room from looking through past reviews knowing that these rooms had been upgraded. When we checked in we got told we had beeen "upgraded" to a bure. I had stated this is not what I had booked but only to be told there were no free hotel rooms to change back to. We were taken to a bure and previous posts are absolutely correct - out dated and in need of an upgrade. When speaking to another couple when checking out they also had been "upgraded", also not at their request.
The restaurant was the biggest disappointment we had to wait over 40 minutes just to get a menu, then after 1 hour 45 minutes we watched the waitress giving our meals to another table and after some confusion the meals eventually made it to our table, stone cold. In the time we were waiting for our meals we saw numerous meals being sent back. We would have up and left but with the resort being as remote as it is we really didn't have to many options. When talking to several other guests the general consensus was that the restaurant was a real let down.
Sonisali is in a beautiful area, with a fantastic outlook over the ocean and the pool was great but just needs to improve on their restaurant service and their bures then they could have a really great resort.
I would also take your own pillow.
