We stayed at the Hilton Denarau in April this year.
We stayed in a 2 bed room suite which was well appointed and clean, however the shower could have done with a revamp. It was great having our own washing machine, plus full size fridge.
The claim of 7 pools is a stretch, however. It was basically 2 large pools split into smaller pools, plus a smaller children's pool. Poolside activities for kids were good (water polo, ice cream eating comp, tree climbing), however the kids club was certainly geared towards young kids 5 or under (my 6 and 8 year old checked the board every day as they wanted to go to kids club, but there was never anything that interested them).
Both my daughter and I have food intolerances and I had emailed the resort prior to us arriving to check what gluten free options they had. I was assured there would be gf pasta and pizza bases available. However, on arrival we were told they had no gf pasta, and the pizza bar often did not have gf bases available. I was told by staff that I should have emailed prior to our arrival to let them know of our intolerances (ah, I did!).
This issue aside, the restaurants were nice, particularly Maravu (just not many gf options at the restaurants, particularly for kids). Gf muffins were provided at the breakfast buffet, no gf cereal though. Recommend taking your own gf bread/wraps/cereal.
The resort was clean and modern, however had no atmosphere. No fire lighting ceremony at night, and night time Polynesian dancers didn't start until 8:30/9pm - too late for kids. Some staff were friendly (Bula!), however most were indifferent, particularly some poolside staff who acted as though we were putting them out by placing an order! Cocktails were not great, either (lots of sugar syrup!).
Being on Denarau, the beach has black sand, although dirt might be a better description! We didn't use it, other than hiring kayaks and paddle boards one day.
We won't be returning.

Thank you very much for your comments further to your stay. Whilst I do understand that you have had an enjoyable stay with us, it was disappointing to read some of your feedback.
There is a large range of activities for adults and kids, around the pools and at the kids club, all detailed in the welcome booklet and on notice boards. In addition, watersports are also available, including kayaks and SUP available on a complimentary basis.
I was surprised to read your comments about the gluten free items, as we do identify all GF items on our menus, and provide GF items at breakfast (muffins, bread, …) and at the Deli (including cookies, pasta, …). We certainly have GF pizza bases available at all times and I am sorry the wrong information had been given to you.
There is a torch lighting ceremony along the 1.5km of beachfront taking place every night. Your comments about the timing of the Polynesian show, the poolside service and the cocktails were indeed noted and corrective action will be taken.
I am sorry that you did not find Denarau of your liking, and still hope that you will be back at some stage.
