“Our visit to the Terraces”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

We currently stayed in the Terraces 2 bedroom apartments. First for 2 nights and then 1 night as we stayed on Mana Island in-between.
Our room was fantastic. Perfect for 2 couples and very accommodating of our baby. We were provided with a porta cot for her, and each had our own bathrooms in the upstairs apartment.
The room was very nice, clean and well presented.
We ate breakfast at the cafe by the pool, it was nothing amazing but was quick and tasted good. (we had the tropical fruit and yoghurt and banana smoothie)
We used the pool which was lovely, the shower at the end of the pool was broken.
Staff were friendly - especially towards our baby. We left our luggage at the front office while we went for lunch and waited for our transport to the airport.
Overall a great stay at the Terraces, we have now stayed there twice and would recomend it to anyone because of its self contained units, quiet pool with a great view of the gold course, easy walking distance to Denaru Port and boat transfers to the islands.

We stayed for two weeks, and would have stayed longer if we could. Great for both short and longer-term stays by couples and families. Staff are friendly and efficient. Very convenient to a range of restaurants, cafes, shops and boat trips at Port Denarau.

Room Tip: Choose an apartment close to, or away from, the pool, depending on your needs.

We recently stayed here for two nights on the way back from an Island stopover. The room was very clean and tidy. There were two bedrooms up stairs both with bathrooms and living, kitchen area downstairs with another toilet and excellent outside area.

The pool was very clean and we had fun lazing around before flying back to Australia. In terms of location its about 20 min from the airport, and 10 min from Nadi city.

It is directly opposite the major shopping centre at Denarau.

Very good place to stop

We had a very pleasant stay at The Terraces having stayed very happily on previous trips at The Westin and Sofitel (we only stayed as a couple in a one bedroom at these properties not as a family on this occasion at The Terraces.) We stayed in a two bedroom apartment it was very spacious, clean and comfortable with everything we needed in them, two bathrooms and three toilets and two lovely big balconies. We had the freedom of cooking for ourselves or going to the Port for meals and being able to do our own laundry! Wonderful after being up the Yasawas for 10 days!!
The staff were so pleasant and helpful. We found the location a lot more convenient and quieter than the other two we had stayed at previously Port Denerau just across the road no need for taxis or buses, no one arriving in the middle of night next door room or anyone running and yelling past your room in the corridor,we found it on this occasion pleasantly quiet. Although if you are after the busy resort feel with lots of people and the huge flashy pool a few steps away then this isn't for you.
The construction going on in front was more facinating than annoying didn't notice it during sleeping/resting hours. Can't predict how much noisier this will get in the future.
We would definately stay here again Vinaka to the staff at The Terraces

We stayed here for three nights. Beautiful apartment. Terrific balconies off the living area and main bedroom. One queen, two singles, two bathrooms. Everything clean. The kitchen would suit a family, especially if staying for a week as eating out could get expensive. Port Denarau is across the road, a five minute walk. Lots of choices for food here and Jacks, the big tourist store. Easy booking for boats etc at the Port as well. The pool area was lovely and the pool very clean. Disappointingly the outdoor cafe near the pool was closed the whole time we were there. Apparently due to weather on one day, although the really awful rain did not hit until late afternoon, yet it was closed in the morning. It wasn't opened again the next day "due to weather" but it was a bright sunny day! Disappointing, as we would have chosen to lunch (and cocktail !) there instead of having to head for Port Denarau again. Small supermarket is across the road but very expensive. Reception ordered a taxi to take us on a tour of the Garden of the Sleeping Giant, Hindu Temple (don't go in the rain- very slippery) and the Nadi Handicraft Markets. Instead of these markets we ended up at a store that was clearly owned by the taxi driver's friend who tried to tell us it was THE Nadi handicraft markets. Not. Very expensive and hard to get out of the store. Got ripped off but in the scheme of things an experience... BUT, if you decide to go the taxi route make sure you tell the receptionist to insist that you be taken to the right place instead of for a ride! Taking local taxis is important as the resorts are increasingly cutting them out of the market in Nadi as they provide everything in house. The gardens by the way are worth a visit. Even in the pouring rain they were impressive. Orchid lovers will be very happy. So, Terrace Apartments is a great place to stay but just one thing to keep in mind. There is a hotel being built literally directly in front of it at the moment. We were very busy during the day so didn't matter but the noise from this construction site could be very intrusive and loud for quite some time to come.

Room Tip: Rooms on the second floor away from the pool are more private. View over the golf course very prett...

We stayed here some six years ago but as Accor Club members, initially planned to stay at the Sofitel. However, after a disastrous stay at their Suva hotel we thought we stick with what we new. What we didn't expect was a holiday here far exceeding our previous stay. The rooms are immaculate, fantastic air conditioning (if you've read my other reviews you may understand my obsession with these things!) even an outside ceiling fan on the balcony, spacious, high ceilings, great Internet connection, walking distance to the lovely Port Denarau marina and a free shuttle to all the other resorts on Denarau. Staff were so pleasant and accommodating, but also very discreet - we spent most mornings on the balcony and whilst the lawn needed mowing and pool cleaned, they were done quickly and so we didn't feel intruded upon - coming from the rat race, this was something truly appreciated. Even the maids servicing neighbouring rooms ensured they kept noise to a minimum. A beautiful pool so close by which our children adored. I noticed the spa services and found I could have a Shellac treatment for the equivalent of around £10 - wished I hadn't spent a fortune for a manicure here before I left! I believe there is also a BBQ facility by the pool which can be utilised. We had an issue with undelivered soap powder - head Housekeeper Ima not only apologised but personally delivered this. And I must mention the outstanding service we received from the General Manger herself, Ms Ogina Lata - we also had an issue with a slight leak at the end of our first stay. She met and apologised to us and on our return stay, we found that she had upgraded us to a two-bedroom apartment. On the eve of our departure, she met us personally and enquired about our stay. Such grace and professionalism was something I expected (but did not receive) at a previous hotel (please see my other reviews) and is indicative of an high level of management expertise that one would expect in a five-star hotel. It is quite clear that Ms Lata runs extremely well a team on excellence and high standards. I regret that we wasted time and money on other hotels in Fiji when we could have based ourselves here. They have a great storage facility where we could have left our gear whilst on tour. We won't make that mistake again. We will be returning and in the meantime, I will be singing the praises of the Terraces, Ms Ogina Lata and her team to all and sundry here in the UK. Overall - the Terraces is a hidden gem; great value for money, excellent service and facilities and a (luxurious) home away from home.

Room Tip: The first floor rooms meant we had a great view of the pool from the balcony and could keep an easy...
