“Lovely hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013 via mobile

We had an ocean view room and got a lovely view of both the sea and the gardens. The room itself was very nice, plenty of room and very well furnished, very much 5 star. The bathroom though, was small and tired, just didn't live up to the quality of the room.
The hotel itself is very nice, gorgeous pool area.
I have to say, if you have children, the hotel is fantastic, very well set up, if you don't, and want peace, avoid in the kids holiday times, it's over run, but I wouldn't hesitate to stay here out of the kids hols. The one thing the hotel could do is make part of the pool adults only.

Thank you for your review, its a pleasure to read that you enjoyed our facilities and location.

It's a shame that you did not find our adults only tranquility zone as I am sure you would have enjoyed the peace in this area. Whilst the hotel can be busy during school holidays, we do offer an adults only breakfast overlooking the beach and our signature dining experience "V" is also an exclusive area for adults.

Moving forward we are looking at the possibility of developing a seperate adults only pool.

I stayed yet again for only 3 nights!

The only complaint is that the room we had was not services before 3.30 which very annoying when you have been out of your room all day nd wan to return to rest or showered to go out again!
The first day our room was not services because of this. And yet the day we where checking out they where very prompt to try and clean the room, even though we had. Late check out.

I would not let this spoil my stay as I love Sofitel and will always return here.

Room Tip: I have stayed in quite a few different rooms! And have always been happy with location. We had a co...

Thanks for your review, its always a pleasure to hear from our regular guests. I apologise that we didn't service your room promptly or at a time most convenient to you.

I am glad to read that despite this you had a great time, and we look forward to welcoming you back to the resort next year.

Absolutely stunning resort. Spacious grounds, awesome pool area and activities happening all the time. Kids didn't need the holiday club with all the events going on. Spent hours in the pool on the slide, and out at the beach - which has lovely sand. Sun loungers everywhere, hammocks a real place to feel like your on holiday. Kayaking for free, and other water activities available. Rooms beautiful with stunning views of sea (we had level 3 rooms). Plenty to see and do, lots of shops all within walking distance, or cheap bus/taxi to there. Cheerful people all around (cleaners, Activity people, restaurant waitresses etc, etc.) If you want to relax and enjoy go here. Will be going back asap.
NB: If you do have a package deal with free things - do make sure you take this copy along in case it hasn't gone through to all the individuals it needs to, if you have the copy absolutely no problems to get it sorted.

Room Tip: I would choose to stay at the far end (so peaceful away from any function noise and fabulous views o...

This is one of the many resorts on Denarau, we stayed here for three nights of our 7 night trip to Fiji. We got we expected, well appointed room looking out over the garden and ocean, great choice of restaurants and bars, some entertainment (including live music at breakfast!), activities all day, lots of families holidaying, friendly staff and the odd wedding!

We enjoyed the Salt restaurant and bar overlooking the bay, the "Bula Bus" that takes you to other resorts and the marina (for shopping and restaurants), happy hours from 5pm to 8pm (you need to bar hop though), the in room "Pure Fiji" cosmetics (bought a heap to take home with us at the shop on site), the comfortable King bed and airconditioning, the well stocked convenience store on site, the convenience of Rosie's Travel to book a tour and the five star food and service at the French inspired "V" restaurant.

The things that could be improved were the drinks being more expensive than at some other resorts, the room servicing was a bit hit and miss, our toilet needed to be fixed (had to lift the top off the cistern before and/or after each flush to fix it - we reported it), some noise from the rooms above and the very small bathroom.

All in all we enjoyed our stay in Fiji and at the Sofitel and would recommend it to families wanting to relax in the beautiful Fijian weather.

Room Tip: Pick a room off the ground floor, you get more privacy

Beautiful location, right on the beach. Our first room had mold, and we were moved to another wing of the hotel. Great service, good meals, although we were visited by birds each morning at the buffet. If we went for a refill, the birds would take the napkin off the plate to uncover a snack for themselves. Walked down the beach to another hotel for a late night dinner. Romantic and beautiful.

Room Tip: The newer wing of the hotel has nicer rooms, better A/C.

Thank you for your review, glad to read that you enjoyed our location, service and dining.

We have recently installed netting on all the windows in our Buffet Restaurant which has now solved the bird issue without ruining the views of the resort.

We hope to see you in the future

Short taxi ride from the airport (Nandi) and don't pay more than $24.00. The resort staff were very friendly, checking was easy and quick, our bags and ourselves were taken to our room by golf cart (quite a large resort) helpful porter gave a good rundown of what was where in the resort on the way. Very nice clean comfortable room on the ground floor with a nice garden and sea views, room was a good size with iron, hair dryer, robes and slippers, mini bar (expensive). A nice touch was the bed turned down for us each evening. Great pool and grounds for kids (and adults) nice bars and resteraunts, although quite expensive, lots of activities and kids club, very well organised, had a great time even tho the pool area was a little crowded (we stayed during Austrailian school holidays) the beach was not as bad as some have made it out to be, grey sand but swim able. Would defiantly recommend day trip to the smaller islands and a day trip to Suva was a real eye opener. If you use taxis in Fiji, make sure the driver turns his meter on......

Room Tip: The refurbished ground floor rooms in the block looking over the Chappell

My husband and I had a wonderful week at the Sofitel. Lots of families staying as school holidays were on, but that didn't bother us. Fantastic pool, even with lots of people in it you never felt crammed as its big enough to cater for everybody. Like other guests have mentioned really loved aqua aerobics, so cool to see so many people doing it and all having a good time. Activities guys made it enjoyable. Our room was lovely (213) we over looked the garden and the little chapel. Its away from the pool area, so it was peaceful. The bed was comfortable, didn't like the pillows.
Tried all the restaurants at various times, the best is there fine dining restaurant yum yum. We also ate out at the Marina which is cheaper than the resort.
We have stayed at three different resorts on Denarau and I can honestly say that Sofitel is our favourite. We will definetly go back but like other guests will get an Advantage Plus card to get 50% off meals.
Would love to take my grandchildren one day as they would have a ball. Vinaka Sofitel
