My husband and I were here on our honeymoon, both quite excited to visit Fiji for the first time and to stay at the Sheraton. We have stayed at many Starwood properties in various countries, given that he is a preferred member for work reasons. We have ALWAYS had such a pleasant experience, and I've always been extremely fond of Starwood. That is, until we stayed here at the Sheraton. It's unbelieveable to me how much they exploit tourists. I have never felt so "nickle and dimed" in my life. It's fine to charge a 20% service fee for good service but I cannot tell you the number of times I had to ask for water throughout meals, or coffee, clean up service. For instance, one night we had a spill in the room with broken glass. I immediately called Housekeeping for assistance. They assured me that someone would be right there to help. Thirty minutes went by and we decided to call again. The woman at Housekeeping then said to my husband, "Oh, so you want someone to come now?!" I'm confused...we JUST called you and told you that we are concerned tht there is broken glass on our floor. I'd even sweep it up myself; it was a safety issue. Needless to say, we didn't get service until the next morning. They'll claim "Fiji time," but I honestly think it's poor customer service and VERY VERY rude. We also were having drinks at Chime one evening. We had finished our drinks, paid the check, but were waiting on our table at the Flying Fish before our departing flight. I was STILL snacking on the mix that the lady left at the table for us to munch on when she came over and just took it off the table. Are you serious? Of cousre, we then left...guess they had had their use of us! Unbelievable. I honestly was speechless because of the level of rudeness. The drinks at the hotel were overpriced and very watered down. MY husband even ordered one drink, minus a certain ingredient due to an allergy, and the guy STILL included it in the drink. He got violently ill as a result hours later. The housecleaning service left a lot to be desired; we continually found bugs in our room. When we arrived, there were hairs on our floor and toothpaste spatters still on the mirrors, not t mention the mold in the shower. Among all of the Starwoods we have stayed across the world, I have never been treated so poorly as we have here and received such a low level of customer service. I will never stay at this hotel again and will surely pass along my negative reviews to other friends/family who visit Fiji.
