I'd researched on Trip Advisor about Oolala to Savala Island and on the recommendations of other travellers, my husband and I decided to give it a go. We did go to Savala Island also - I believe the last reviewer was taken to Malamala. We went on Monday 31st Dec 2012. It was a pretty good trip - the cruise took roughly around and hour and is only one and a half acres of sandy beach. The island itself is uninhabited and is picturesque with shade provided by freestanding straw thatched huts and a large shelter in the middle. There were an array of activities for us to do - snorkel, scuba, kayaks, glass bottomed boat, tan and massages at an extra cost ($50 for half hour, $90 for hour Fijian dollars). I was told that they could also arrange a massage post-cruise in my hotel room for the same price but I opted out of that. Morning and afternoon tea was just a bit of banana cake which was fine for me and unlimited drinks. The staff were very attentive and Paul (Superman) was the leader of the group and very entertaining. BBQ lunch was plentiful - chicken, sausages, green salad, coleslaw, bread rolls, potato salad, fruit and there was enough for all. I spent most my time there snorkelling - a lot of the coral is dead but I did get to see a nemo, sea urchin and tonnes of parrot fish so it was worthwhile for me :) Would recommend to do but only once. I wouldn't do this cruise again if I return to Fiji.
