We were recently in Fiji and decided to undertake a day trip, We had initially wanted to go with Whales' Tales but, unfortunately, they were sold out. The travel desk at the resort we were staying at recommended the Ooh La La day trip in place of Whale's Tales. I must say that, while we had a decent enough day, the cruise was definitely not what was advertised. We were not told until boarding that we were not actually on the "Ooh La La" ... we were on the *ahem* poorer sister vessel, the "Ooh Loo Loo". This was about half the size of the Ooh La La with extremely poor and limited facilities. Our seating was plastic garden chairs squashed into rows - a little like being at school. The brochure advertises a champagne breakfast with pastries on arrival. We received nothing. Both morning and afternoon teas were a cup of either half cold tea or coffee with a small square of slice. (Only one small tray of slice appeared, so there wasn't really much to go around.) I'm not sure I understand why we paid the same price (almost FJD 200 per person) as those travelling on the Ooh La La when our boat was of very poor quality and fit-out. It really spoiled the day for me that we were not told beforehand of this possibility. The photographs in the brochure show a gorgeous boat and list all these wonderful additions. If I had known that I was not going to be on the Ooh La La, I would have looked at other alternatives. All I can say is ... while it's a decent enough day, make sure you ask which vessel you will be placed on before you travel - it may save you some disappointment.
