“bad experience, unfriendly attitude of the manager”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

Stayed 1 night on December 27, 2012. I had reserved in September a suite, with separate rooms. When we came, manager Carlos told us we could only have a large room with 2 beds (for the price of the suite), telling us it was as large as a suite. He added that if we didn't want it, we could go looking somewhere else, knowing perfectly well that we couldn't go anywhere at night during high season. He refused to give us the sheets for the sofabed that was in the room, saying that would be extra. In the morning, we were awakened early by the loud voices of the staff in the kitchen, adjacent to our room (number 106). There was no hot water in the sink in the bathroom, but there was warm water in the shower. If you come for check-in to the place after 8 pm, you are out of luck - the gate closes at that time and there is nobody at the front desk. We had hard time finding the place - it doesn't have an exact address that could be entered into the GPS. The breakfast was OK - skimpy, but fresh. We would never stay at this place again.

We stayed here back in May 2011. Everything was so peaceful and quiet. The place was perched up on a hill in Fajardo - so we got a huge room overlooking Seven Seas Beach. The owner, Gladys was so attentive. She made sure we were comfortable and personally brought us breakfast every morning by the pool. - and it wasn't some toast and jelly breakfast either. Every morning was different - quiche, oatmeal, fresh fruit. I would definitely choose something smaller and more personal like this over a large resort anyday.

TIP: don't try to steal the fruit from her tree and sneak it back to the mainland in your suitcase, airport security sniffed it out within seconds :(

We chose to stay here based on its location close to Las Croabas (the take-off point for kayaking trips into the bioluminescent lagoon), which is a 2 minute drive down the hill. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was very clean. We were promptly served breakfast in the morning, which was good for a hotel breakfast (although not compared to a Midwest US "B&B"). The pool and surrounding area was quite attractive. Overall, I feel like we received exactly what we paid for.

My wife and I were excited to stay here based on the excellent reviews on trip advisor, but boy were we in for quite the surprise.

We had booked online through hotels.com several weeks before and had enjoyed the first few days of our trip throughout the island of puerto Rico. For the final leg of our trip we planned to stay at passion fruit for 2 nights. After a day of driving from the other side of the island we finally made it to fajardo and found our way to passion fruit. Unfortunately when we got there we were greeted with a locked gate and deserted buildings. Confused, we called the office and were shocked to hear that THE B&B HAD DECIDED TO CLOSE UNTIL NOV 1st without any clear rhyme or reason and that all the booking agents had been informed one week before. We were furious because it was already late in the evening and we were told by a rather unsympathetic hotels.com agent that everything else in fajardo was sold out. As much as I would like to go on a tirade about the subsequent incompetence and inefficiency of hotels.com to find us another place to stay (I'll save that for another post), I can't help but conclude that ultimately passion fruit is to blame for closing mid-season with hardly any notice and no explanation. Completely unacceptable and unprofessional.

Basically had place to ourselves due to low season. Stayed one night before going to Vieques then stayed again afterwards for two nights. Booked a king room the second go round but got queen bed. Service ok. Waited by pool one morning during breakfast hours for 30 minutes before being acknowledged. It was very hot and mosquitos were biting us. The pool was dirty with leaves and bird/lizard poo on deck. The staff was pretty friendly. Vending machine need servicing. Rooms needed more maintenance but they were pretty clean. It was very tacky to put out a tip jar during breakfast. It is implied as included at a B&B. I have stayed at many B&B's but never seen this before. Expected more since most reviews are raving. Gladys was gone. Could this be the difference?

We loved this place, and practically had it to ourselves when we visited in August. It's beautifully maintained and very clean, and we had a nice suite for two adults and two teenagers. The staff was very accommodating, pool area was lovely, breakfast was great. It was a ways from most restaurants and attractions, but the directions we had were fine. I would definitely recommend using this as a home base when exploring the attractions in the area.

We visited here the beginning of April 2012. We did get a little lost when we were very close as the Conquistador road takes a sharp, somewhat unexpected turn. Also, it is best to rent a car to get around unless you want to exclude yourself to the few very close options for food and entertainment. Pros: Staff is friendly enough and very helpful, rooms are clean, breakfast is fresh, and the pool is wonderful! It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the beach even with a stroller. Area is safe to walk around even at night, and you can walk to a few restaurants but there are no sidewalks for a portion of the walk so drivers have difficulty seeing you at night. Seven Seas beach is pretty, large, and nice to swim in for adults, children, and toddlers and my 6 year old daughter found friends to play with there. We also visited the beautiful Luquillo Beach (which is much more beautiful in person than in any pictures that I have seen), but I would not suggest wondering in Luquillo near the beach at night (I am not a city person so my suggestion is bias to what I am accustomed ). Cons: We stayed in a Quad suite which had one king bed and one full bed. The full bed mattress was noisy so it may need replaced. The children slept in it fine but adults are sure to be uncomfortable. Other than that, we enjoyed Passion Fruit and would stay here again.
