“Who Knew?!?!?!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2013

Who knew that you can get outstanding Italian cuisine in Puerto Rico! Phenomenal Meal, outstanding service, be prepared for the bill and lack of the scenic views.

“What A Disappointment”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013

As one reviewer said perfectly - quality and price are terribly mismatched. What was supposed to be a treat at an Italian restaurant ended up being a disaster. Our table of 8 people all had negative things to say: examples - caesar salad had too much anchovy paste, the grilled calamari was tough as leather, the osso bucco was more like an old beef stew with fatty beef, the pasta was overdone and too much oil and garlic dressing etc. The prices! $45 for the osso bucco was outrageous. The wine was expensive and not very good. No one ordered dessert for fear of being disappointed.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to detail your experience regarding your recent visit to our restaurant.

Allow us to preface with an apology for your justified disappointment regarding food and beverage service. This is certainly not indicative of the sophisticated level of expectations that have become La Piccola Fontana trademark and legacy.

When you arrive at the most sophisticated restaurant in the area, it is understandable that you would want to be seduced by our gastronomic flavors and the beauty of your surroundings, and we regret that your experience fell short. Rest assured, your generous feedback is crucial for us to improve in these areas, and has been addressed with the Executive Chef, in order to avoid this from reoccurring. We welcome any further comments that you may have.

We do hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back, so that we may have the opportunity to reverse your initial impression and treat you to the uncompromising service that our distinguished guests have grown accustomed to.

Thank you for the gift of feedback, and the opportunity to address your concerns.

Again, our apologies.

Warmest regards,

“Quality and price are terribly mismatched.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2013

This was our second stay at el con and last time we avoided this place after guests warned us. We've dined at most of the other restaurants in the hotel, if you want to splurge just stick with chops steak house.

On our last night in PR tropical storm Gabrielle was over the island so we decided to stay in the hotel. It was our 15th anniversary and we along with our kids and parents/ grandparents wanted something special for diner. We decided to take our chances and were disappointed.

If you have more than one child and they don't have a huge appetite order one kids meal and let them share. We specifically asked about the kids portions size and were told they were small, they lied in order for us to order more food, what a waste the kids meal portion was large enough to feed an adult male. I'm not against paying for separate meals but it's such a shame to waste so much food. Not to mention our diners came with giant bowls of pasta which If they had mentioned, we would have just given them our sides; there ended up being 4 full wasted bowls of pasta thrown out.

The salami appetizers and salads were good, bread is excellent with th 3 choices of butter. The diners were terrible, under cooked pasta, sour veal, and tough and tasteless raviolis, the gnocchi was acceptable. My Italian grandmother was very disappointed and said it wasn't even as good as the Olive Garden.

Overall a disappointing and expensive meal, for the 6 of us ( 2 of them kids) our bill came to 320 dollars which for the quality of the food was absurd. This bill didn't include many drinks, only 2 alcoholic, some soda and bottled water and we only ordered 2 desserts and shared.

“Best italian restaurant ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

I had the wonderful experience of dinning last night at The Piccola Fontana Restarant at The Conquistador Hotel and Resort. A group of us decided to try having dinner at this very elegant Italian restaurant. All of us were marveled by the delicious food and the excellent service, specially, the wonderful service given to us by the handsome Italian manager, Mr. Matteo Ciscato, who gave the extra mile service to our group. Not only was the service exceptional, but we were treated with great attention to our needs. I eat meat so I ordered the most delicious "Filet Mignon" I have ever eaten. Since some of my friends are not meat lovers, Mr. Ciscato went through the trouble of explaining to my friends the fish specialties of the house. One in the group ordered a delicious Salmon while another ate a very nicely prepared Halibut with tomatoes. All of these delicious specialties were accompanied with a delicious selection of steamed vegetables seasoned with a buttery sauce. The girls at the restaurant were extremely nice and serviceable with us. To finish we were given a delicious variety of deserts to choose from, I specially had a very tastefully prepared "creme broulet". Well all in all we had a marvelous delightful experience dinning at La Picola Fontana at the Conquistador Hotel. Definitely I will highly recommend the place.
