“Unique & Worthwhile”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2014

There are only a few places on earth where this phenomena can be seen so if you are on the eastern end of the Puerto Rico and can take time to visit, especially on a dark moonless night, go for it! Its said the lagoons on Vieques is a little better (darker).

Unless you have your own kayak with you, it can only be visited as part of a tour. An advanced call for reservations is highly recommended since this is a very popular trip and the park service limits access.

Its a pretty long paddle through mangroves to the lagoon but well worth it.

There is an electric boat option. Not as adventurous as the kayaks but for young children, pregnant women, etc. its a viable alternative.

“Pretty neat to see the water illuminate”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2014

We took the Electric boat and it was a nice experience especially laughing at the novice Kayakers getting stuck in the trees. The guides are very nice and give you information about the bay. Next time I would choose Kayaking because it lookss more adventurous.

“Amazing Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2014

initially we were little hesitant to go to Biobay but thank God finally we went. It was magical experience and one must go. One should go for the early tour so that they you will get nice view of mangrove. Our guide was very nice and had good knowledge.

“One of the best things I have done in my life”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2014

I have traveled all over and seen and done some amazing things, but this was the coolest thing I have ever seen. We did the early tour which made it nice to see the mangroves on the way in and easier to know where you were going on the way out when its pitch black. We used Kayaking Puerto Rico as our company and they were excellent. We must have had a great group because I didn't find there to be too many people or people running into me.

The water is incredible. We were throwing it at each other and whenever it hit someone or the kayak it would look like it exploded into a million little stars! Hands and paddles lighting up underwater! My gf and I were going nuts the whole time. It felt like a mix between a dream and being in the movie Avatar. MUST see this if in PR.

“Go for the early evening one!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2014

We read reviews and knew we should take the early evening one and that is what we did. Was the right decision - we got a nice view of the mangrove and bay on our way in. On the way back it was all dark but fun nonetheless. Take a small flashlight in your pocket if you can - can help maneuver if you get stuck on the way back. Must say the guides are super nice and you are in good hands!
