“Absolutely horrible”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013

I really don't understand quite a number of reviewers on this place. This is not the real Jamaica. It is far removed from it. It's dirty, dark, smelly accommodation and extremely uncomfortable and as un-laidback as is possible. Couldn't wait to leave this place after one night. Big mistake. There are hundreds of places in Jamaica that are just so much better than this old 'rustic' place. As a Jamaican I feel almost embarrassed that this place is still open for business. I have no idea what could possibly attract people to this place. I was sadly (mis)guided by the tripadvisor reviews. Happens!

Our review of this incredible place is a bit overdue! My boyfriend and I had a great time here. We visited Time N' Place in March of 2013 just for a few hours during the day, because we were on a Celebrity Cruise and it stopped in Falmouth. We got off our boat and met Harvel at a bank very close to the port. He picked us up and took us right over to Time N' Place. It was only about a 25min drive. Time N' Place was beautiful and the staff were fantastic. They were so friendly and helpful. The beach was absolutely gorgeous and it immediately reminded me of Gillian's Island. It was great to be on beach that was not built up with a crowd. For lunch we had jerk chicken that was slow roasted for an hour. It was fantastic! We had a wonderful time and highly recommend it. Tony the owner is fantastic. You have ti visit if you come to Falmouth!

Tony's place is great--he's a unique individual and he has made a little piece of heaven only a half hour away from Mobay! We stayed in the Love Nest, which is the most recent addition and is perched on the beach as close to the waterline as possible. The beach is gorgeous at Time N Place and is you walk west along the beach you can cross over to more beach that is even more sublime and deserted. The cabin had everything we needed and Tony is a great resource for whatever you might need. We travelled all around Jamaica and stayed at 6 places and visited/dined at many more. Without a doubt we can say that Time N Place tied for number 1 with Irie Rest Guest house in Treasure Beach. Our recommendation for the perfect Jamaican trip would be a week at Irie Rest Guest House followed by a week at Time N Place--if you do this you can't go wrong! Please visit soon as Tony may not have the property forever, due to some issues with the land owner. We have our fingers crossed that Time N Place will still be there when we return to Jamaica!

My husband and I and four friends pre-arranged our day visit to Time n Place with the owner Tony via e-mail. The enclosed port area of Falmouth has been resurrected by RCCL/Celebrity to a clean and well maintained local vendor area. We walked and met our driver Harvel at the appointed place outside the port gate. He was right on time and we were at the beach within 15 minutes, $10 pp round trip. We were greeted by Tony, a knowledgable and affable host who is trying to preserve this beautiful area and keep it from corporate hands. Tony's place is quite rustic but unpretentious and serene with calm transparent water colors ranging from deep blue to teal to pale green on the edge of the Cayman reef. You really can see to the bottom even in shoulder high water, and Tony keeps the beach clean of seaweed. One can just unwind and be immersed in the pure beauty of nature there. It was the most relaxed and enjoyable excursion on our Western Caribbean cruise.
Including ourselves, there were a total of 11 guests. We enjoyed authentic Jamaican cooked to order lunch including lobster, fish, shrimp, jerk chicken for $10 each; Jamaican Red Stripe beer is $3, soda $2. The beach and facility fee is $10. Tony's family was there, including his adorable 2 year old granddaughter and friendly family dogs who were no bother to us. There is a clothing optional beach adjacent to Tony's property, but it's mostly obscured by a jetty with a short pier and boathouse. Tony has a few basic rooms to rent for land vacationers, but we didn't see the interior. There are no annoying beach vendors. Thank you Tony and Harvel. When again in Jamaica, we will return.

We just returned from a cruise and spent a day at Time and Place, it was great. We were the only ones there of the 3000+ guests on the boat. I reserved a ride on the website in advance and we were met promptly in Falmouth at the Scotia Bank and brought to the beach (about 15 minutes or less away). Harvel was our driver and we arranged a return time with him when he dropped us off at 10:30. I could not believe how quickly 3pm arrived! We spent all day at the beach and had jerk chicken lunches, which were great. The kids used the kayak and explored the beaches. The water was crystal clear and the beer was cold, this was the most relaxing of my three excursions. Tony and the staff were great and very accomodating. If you want a relaxed location that encompasses the true Jamaican spirit, I recommend Time and Place for a great cruise ship excursion.

Room Tip: there are two rooms (one room elevated cottages) on the beach, but we were only there for a day.

We were desperate to find something great to do in Falmouth on our one day cruise stop and after much discussion and debate on options decided this would be our best option. We took a cab from inside the Cruise Terminal as it all looked a bit manic outside, the taxi's do not want to take you as its only a few minutes up the road and I think they get some commissions from the other beaches so will try and persuade you to go elsewhere, however this very lovely taxi driver lady agreed to run us up there, it was $20 and we arrived safely to find the most wonderful virtually deserted beach with wooden loungers and chairs placed under an awning in front of the bar and "restaurant" - the only surprise were a naked couple who had "escaped" from the nudist beach next door for a stroll, thinking it was too early for the typical residents of Time n Place to be up!! Suffice to say we saw them no more on our beach but did wander into their beach to see how it compared!! A few other folks arrived from a second cruise ship who were really friendly and in all there were less then 10 of us on the beach that day. Time n Place do simple lunches and we had Jerk Chicken with rice and beans and a few beers and later we shared a cab back to the cruise terminal with another couple who had arranged for a cab to come pick them up.
I can recommend this place if you want to just seriously chill out for the day or half day, only things to consider is the water was cold, there is no marine life close by for snorkeling although you may see something a bit further out on a jetty and you have to be careful as there are areas of seaweed and an abundance of sea urchins to spike your feet, but as the water is so incredibly clear you can spot them!

Perfect way to spend you cruise stop in Falmouth!! All the other excursions were too expensive and too far away. If you want a real authentic Jamaican experience this is the place to go. Only takes about 20 minutes to get there. Harvel, our driver, was right on time to pick us up and was so friendly! Be sure to visit their website to reserve a day and transportation.

Food & Drinks: One order or jerk chicken was enough for my husband and me to share. Cost was $9 if I remember correctly. Worth it!! A beer is about $3 and sodas $2 if I remember correctly. Small price to pay for jerk chicken and a Red Stripe on the beach in Jamaica!!

The Property: Bring your towels and anything else you could possibly need. There are some wooden beach chairs, not the most comfortable things in the world, but that's what laying your towel on the sand is for! There are a few dogs that laze about the beach, but they're super sweet. Just be ready to either share your chair with them or make them move. They just want some lovin! And no, we did not get fleas from them.

Will we return if visiting Falmouth?? ABSOLUTELY!!! :)
