Description: The Bull at Bacton reopened at the end of March 2013 under new ownership and after extensive refurbishment of the seventeenth century public house and the nineteenth century reading room which provides the main restaurant. The pub takes pride in providing locally sourced, freshly prepared meals ranging from traditional pub favourites to seasonal specials. We offer a changing selection of real ales, from recognisable favourites to lesser-known offerings from local microbreweries, as well as a varied wine list. Family (and dog) friendly, we can cater for everyone, whether you are looking for a light lunch or a couple of sociable drinks in the public bar, to a full three-course meal in the spacious restaurant, perfect for private functions.

“Pub food at its best.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2013

I have been in the Bull several times since it opened and found it a loverly
place to enjoy a good drink and proper country pub food.
Over the months it has improved ferther by changeing cooks and adding more pictures on the walls.
As well as having roaring open fires giving it a great atmospher.
it is the only pub in this area i will enter and leave without any worries of being disapointed.
keep going Bacton Bull you have it right!

“Good pub for some food or a drink or perhaps both!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2013

Its really pleasing to finally see my local up and running again.
The food is excellent and offers plenty of options.
If you don't want to eat then that's ok too as the bottom bar has had a complete facelift and drinkers are made to feel welcome.
Somehow the pub has managed to get the balance right between food and drink

“This is a good pub”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2013

This is a pub and is not trying to be a restaurant. The beer is kept excellently and there is always a good selection, which includes guest beers. Wine is reasonably priced and the selection caters for all tastes. Food is delicious, freshly prepared and we'll presented, huge portions, fresh salad and plenty of it and the menu, whilst always including old favourites (pies, burger, a stew etc.), also has interesting additions which change weekly ... sometimes even daily. Prices represent excellent value for money; especially in relation to portion sizes. The restaurant area is comfortable (the issues noted elsewhere having been addressed), and the lower bar is a very cosy area for drinkers and diners alike. Very family friendly and that old fashioned ability be flexible does still exist here. Decor a mix of old and new which works well and should suit all tastes. Staff friendly and attentive. We live locally and eat there regularly - up to two or three times a month.

Went to the Bull for Sunday lunch. Had three courses including the roast dinner. Good food, generous portions, good service. Will be returning.

“Shut early”

On our way in for a drink while passing and told by local just leaving that it was closing due to nobody in there at 8 pm! Not going back.
