Hotel great, with some minor issues so criticisms first:
Faulty electrics in one room when we arrived, however this got resolved after a couple of visits to reception.
Our rooms were over the bar and evening entertainment kept us awake on a couple of occasions.
Indoor pool not big enough for swimming - also sign said we must wear caps in the pool, however nobody at the hotel could provide these when we asked about them.
Bar staff hit and miss - some were very friendly and helpful, others seemed less enthusiatic about delivering good service to us.
TV only in Spanish apart from two English news channels.
Not much to do if it rains, especially for teenagers. Most local attractions had shut down for the season eg. Paintball, water park, hotel's own kids club.
No bikes available for hire from hotel (broken) although available from shop a few minutes walk away at reasonable hire cost.
Pool nice although a bit cold on days when we didn't have full sun from morning. Pool Bar openings not consistent with advertised times.
Now the positives:
Entire hotel very clean and attractive in general.
Dining room staff absolutely lovely, very hard working, efficient and friendly and keen to help.
Food really nice, plenty of it and good variety and dining room although busy never felt crowded at the counters. Dining always felt very leisurely and relaxed. We went all inclusive like many guests that week and the atmosphere was always very pleasant.
Fabulous beach was quiet which suited us for romantic strolls, beachcombing, paddling and watching local fisherfolk trawling the shallows. It did get busy on the day the sun shone all day. (we had very mixed weather during our stay).
Picturesque Ayamonte old town and Saturday morning market well worth a visit, taxi about 8 euros which worked out nearly as cheap as the hourly bus for four of us. All locals very friendly and no hard selling or ripping off tourists. Also very pleased and patient with our attempts at speaking Spanish and/or miming. Really nice. There was the usual market in the town square with local produce and souvenirs of quite good quality plus a large open market for local people where our 18yr old girl did very well for shoes, watch and sunglasses and I got a lovely pashmina all very cheaply priced.
Marina at Isla Cristina a pleasant hour's walk away, though quiet on the Friday (ghost town) presumably due to time of year. We liked the wooden boardwalks which led to the beach and one cafe still open for custom.
Overall we had a very good holiday, would recommend booking a bit earlier than mid october to make the most of the resort and amenities.
