“Small but Fantastic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2012

We found this small restaurant by chance but liked the atmosphere immediately. The two men who own, run, cook and serve there are fantastic. They explained the interesting menu to us and the meal was so superb that we ate there again the next night. We found out by chance that the locals consider this the best in town, not tourist orientated, just excellent food oriented. The hot walnut bread rolls are good enough in themselves for a return dinner--everything is homemade and every dish we had was outstanding from the aubergines to the grilled baby lamb shoulder which was meltingly tender on a Parmesan mash. The wine list is full of local good wines and the hosts are more than willing to discuss your choice. I would go there again anytime!

“Great Coriscan Food (for a change!)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2012 via mobile

Very good chef who makes high quality food, we had the menu of the day and were served on the little terrace behind the restaurant. The food was great, and very typical. Even the coffee was good. Would recommend it to anyone in Bonifacio.

“A Vegetarians nightmare!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2012

We booked this restuarant based on its #1 ranking of restaurants in Bonifacio. Having never visted Bonifcacio before it was a bit of a gamble but we gave it a go for an evening meal. Although we had booked several days in advance, and then confirmed on the day, tables had to be pushed together on arrival to accommodate our party of 7. The staff were extremely attentive and couldnt be faulted and the ambiance was lovely. The main disapointment was the menu. Virtually every option was meat and the two fish options were unavailable. We had even called ahead to let the restaurant know that there were two non-meat eaters in our party.
In addition, there were no vegetables or garnishes to any of the dishes. Those who ordered lamb literally had a plate of lamb (and bones!) The place appers to be family run and had a real rustic charm but was really poor value for money. The Bonifacio Citadel is awash with restaurants and I would have loved to try one of them - some had marvellously varied menus. It really didnt look as though you needed to book until peak season either. If, on the other hand, you are a committed carnivore I would say check Ciccio out - it might just be your idea of heaven!

“Very disappointing:(”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2012

After great reviews we came there for small lunch (just to spend some time in shade really) so have chosen a menu -16€ for starter +main. The starter was nice but the main was real disaster: small portion of fish was absolutely non edible, full of bones so have to return it! We were offered a delicious lasagne but of kids starter size... :( the other main was pasta with boar pig meat, good taste but low quality meat as well...

“A place where you feel the the chef's spirit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2012 via mobile

It was our only night 'en Corse' on this trip - and we were lucky to have found this place: a cosy backyard - opened 3 days ago!!!- and a chef who really cares: Only regional ingrediances, the black pigs raised by him personally, as well as the potatoes - both delicious. The dishes come with a local touch - chestnuts being part of many recipies. Lovely service, very attentive: Do not hesitate to eat here!
