We stayed 2 nights at Hotel des Etrangers at the end of our Corsica vacation, and were happy with our choice. Our room was small and basic (as advertised), but adequate and comfortable and quiet. The room had a "grand lit" (big bed) but (as everywhere in France) this does not mean King size, but rather a smallish Queen size. The room had AC, TV, a good bathroom with plenty of hot water, a cupboard, table and chair, and window looking out the back of the hotel. It was comfortable and great for two nights, and very good value (especially for expensive Bonifacio) at 74 Euros per night. Breakfast (an extra 6 Euros per person) was served downstairs and featured the standard croissants, baguette, butter, jam, juice, and coffee with hot milk. Wifi was free and worked well in the lobby/breakfast area. The people at the front desk were very nice, and helped us by lending us a beach umbrella (a godsend!), and by printing out a page we needed printed. They were extremely nice, and accommodating. The hotel is on the main road into Bonifacio town (with free parking in their lot), and is a quick 5-min walk to the harbor and town. Our minor complaint would be mattress on the bed (a bit caved in) and the towels (a bit old and gray, needing some bleach). But we would gladly stay here again! We loved Bonifacio town (incredible setting), rocky clifftops, surrounding beaches (especially those more inaccessible ones you had to hike to), cafes, harbor, etc. Can't wait to go back!!
