Stayed at the Hotel Los Delfines in June 2011 for several nights. We got a deal of $40 (instead of $50) a night because we were also diving with them. The hotel was excellent for the standard of hotels in Nicaragua. It had AC (awesome), was bug free inside the rooms, was clean, and had running plumbing. It also had a night watchmen so security was never an issue.
My wife and I are social travelers; if I wanted to be alone I would sit in my backyard and read a book. We enjoy meeting new people while on vacation and hanging out. Hotel Los Delfines worked out perfectly because it is on the western side of the island where there is more of a "scene" centered around Tranquilo's. Zombies come out at night on the east, south, and north sides of the island.
After our week in LCI...unless on an extreme budget, I would probably stay here again and not in on of the more expensive bungalow places on the east (which we originally did). I would stay here, save money, and then during the day go to the east side of the island and enjoy the beaches, pay twice as much for beer and food, and then return to the west side of the island at night fall.
Good times, would stay here again.
