“Greatest place to stay...IF”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2013

Casa Iguana is the greatest place to stay IF...you're not someone who searches out 4-star hotels; IF you don't expect a tiled bathroom with a hot water shower; and IF you're not one of those picky, picky types who're always complaining on Tripadvisor.
What you get is a very basic, yet comfortable, wooden cabin that is situated (here comes the good part) on a small cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea and some 20 steps from a palm tree-lined beach that stretches for as far as you can see.
From our balcony we had a marvelous view of the sea. Great swimming and snorkeling from the beach. AND...to get to the place there's a 10-minute walk down a dirt path through the jungle...ever so beautiful!! (Don't worry, no panthers or other large animals; only teeny, tiny iguanas.)
And remember, there are NO motorized vehicles of ANY kind on Little Corn Island.

We stayed in a casita with private bathroom earlier this month. The cabin was very basic, but we adored the two hammocks on our deck looking directly out over the reef. We had a lovely cool ocean breeze through the night and didn't miss AC at all. If you are going to be put off by ants, gravity showers etc this might not be for you (actually if this is an issue for you, little corn might not be for you) but the private coves were wonderful and the view from the main lodge makes it a fabulous place to enjoy morning coffee and we enjoyed breakfast there each morning. Bring a flashlight as its a dark walk in from town in the evening.

Room Tip: The shared bathroom cabins I think would've been a great (cheaper)option had they been available...

If you love backpacker life - this is paradise. Accommodations in the jungle overlooking a beach with a main house that serves home style meals to travelers from around the world? Yes. I am in! Little Corn Island goes down as one of our best low key, relaxing and totally enjoyable vacations.

When we arrived on Little Corn, my wife was sick with an intestinal bug. The woman who cleaned the room was concerned and brought her rice with plantains and Abner gave us some medicine. The good vibes that we got from the staff were over and above what was required but were greatly appreciated !
The casita was certainly basic, but we had a great breeze all night blowing. We loved the back porch hammocks and the private shower attached outside.
When the village power went out, we still had power (and wi-fi) at casa Iguana.

I spent 5 nights with my family in a Gran Casita. All the bungalows are facing the east and on the top of the cliff that give you fresh air and nice view. However and speaking out, eco-lodge should not stand for for economic lodge maintenance and service. Although we have been informed to bring bug repellent there was only one(1) mosquito net for three beds and no fan. Sheet and bath towel were falling apart that would even not have been accepted in a thrift shop. The bathroom was with dust (insect pooh!) and rust form nails covered the walls. The mirror in the bathroom was on the opposite wall of the sink ! There are two private beaches, one with trash uncollected for a long time and same thing for the other one with broken glass bottles. Food was not cheap compared to other places and although the eco lodge has its own farm we have been told one day that there is no fruits for breakfast. Scuba dives starts at 8:30 a.m. but breakfast does not start before 7:00 a.m. means staff open at 7:00 a.m and serve around 7:30 a.m. Quick breakfast, fast 15 minutes walk to go to the dive club if you want to catch the first dive. It's obvious that the manager has little budget/liberty to manage, if any to maintain this eco lodge and the owner leaves in the States and control he reservation by email that might explain why this eco lodge lost is momentum. You will discover, not informed when we reserved by credit card, that you will be charged 5% fee if you pay by credit card.

Room Tip: All the eco lodge on the east coast have the benefit of the breeze.

We had a great experience here. Our casita was rustic but serviceable, with a nice porch view of the Caribbean. We loved the private coves, the free coffee, and the eversteady Wifi and easygoing vibe at the lodge. Abner, the host most days, was so helpful and friendly. All of the staff are great, really. This is a fine place to stay on an island with few options. You can't go wrong with Casa Iguana.

Casa Iguana is a paradise nestled at the far end of the island. It is a gorgeous place to stay and the view is spectacular. With a breeze to cool you off from a hot day, Casa Iguana is more than I could have ever expected. The manager, Abner, is extremely friendly and always puts his guests first. He is always available to answer any questions about the island. The bartenders make the best drink I've ever had, the signature Basilito. The food is delicious...especially the 3 course dinners. I am extremely happy about my vacation on Little Corn Island thanks to Casa Iguana. I am extremely grateful to Abner and the rest of the Casa Iguana gang.
