“Great Value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013

This was a reliable safe, clean and comfortable hotel -probably the best budget hotel stayed in thus far. Central, nice owners, reasonable ($15 for double bed).

Across from the hotel, on the same property was a delicious restaurant that served 3 meals and was popular with the locals.

Loved G&G. The owners and staff were exceptional. Very, very nice and helpful. They didn't have a room available in the price range we were looking for so they gave us a larger room for the same price. This hostel is more like a hotel. It's not right on the beach but it's only a 10 minute walk or less than $1 (USD) taxi ride to the best beach on the island. All the beach-front hotels are expensive so this place is a steal. And very clean! I would definitely stay there again.

A friend and I stayed in this hotel (with hostel prices) three nights - two on our way to Little Corn and one coming back. It was great, especially on the way back from Little Corn when having a non-sandy room was appreciated. The rooms are very clean, the staff is very attentive and friendly, and everything is safe. Would definitely recommend!

This is my favorite hotel on Corn Island for one really important reason: the people running the place are great. The rooms are clean, tiled throughout with toilets that always work, and the hotel is very secure. You just can't beat the price for what is offered: restaurant, room service, clean, safe, and attentive staff. The G and G is family run by friendly Islanders who know how to treat travelers. Be prepared for some activity and a little noise around the hotel, but be thankful that the loud Reggae Palace is now closed. The hotel is close to the sea, but you can be on any Corn Island beach in 5 minutes from any location; taxis are less than one dollar. My ranking is based on value for what is offered.

We stayed a total of 10 days on Big Corn Island at the G & G. It was super clean, safe and secure, large room with private bath, air con and TV at a very affordable price. Owners made us feel like part of their family. Restaurant on site is also good. They will also do laundry for reasonable fee. Would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it to other travelers. Even though it's in the harbor area, it's on a small side street so it's quiet.

Just had my 5th visit to this great place. No Reggae Palace next door now so much quieter.
15$ for a very nice room with fan, bathroom,TV and WiFi.Same price for a couple which is ridiculously cheap for what you get.
Nice bar and retaurant and very secure.I will definitely be back.

Room Tip: Rooms 1 and 7 may have weaker wifi signal.

We don't usually stay in hostels but needed somewhere for two nights. Location is good, staff are very laid back but very friendly ( yay Eugene), it is super clean . There is a Rasta bar on site but didn't worry us ( we are in the 45-51 year age range), as we always carry earplugs. We would stay here again.
