This hotel is probably the most expensive and loveliest in the area. it has historic charm. However the hotel is a bit dated and frankly is in need of refurbishing. Our room was spacious enough and relatively clean. The toilet is spacious but the hot water took a while to come. The ammenities are clearly the cheap kind-- the toothbrush broke after one use. We also had issues with our door which kept jamming. The best thing about this hotel is the concierge staff. they are very helpful. It is the opposite for front desk staff though who simply ignored my requests for help in the business centre. The internet is overpriced (they charged me 60pesos for 20minutes of the slowest internet connection). When i complained about the internet speed, the staff finally checked on it only to say thats just the way it was. yet they charge by 15min block. I cheekily told the front desk supervisor that the their speed was horrible only to be told off that that's the way it was. So much for service with a smile.
The restaurant is ok, and the breakfast buffet is actually good. Just dont order dinner there as they take forever and can get your orders confused. Its very obvious that the restaurant is understaffed.
If you want to experience a piece of Philippine history this is a good place to stay in. But unless you get a discounted deal, its not really worth it.
