If you want to get away and just relax, this is the place for you. We were there with our 11 and 13 year old and they didn't have much to do.The resort is very quite with an on-site cafe. Wi-fi is available in the resort main office and we found that we were able to get a signal in our cabana.

The resort provides two small bottles of water. It would be worth your while to purchase additional water and whatever snack you like outside of the resort because there seems to be nothing for purchase within the resort itself except for meals at the restaurant.

There is a modest waterpark with 2 main swimming areas. The park is open at 9 am but the slides open at 10 pm. Resort guest can use the swimming area after 5 pm without paying admission to the waterpark.

There are three banquet facilities which seem to be popular locations for wedding receptions and other celebration parties.

Staff were very helpful and polite and responded to my email inquiries.

The resort opened in 2000 and ten years later, the place looks like not one bit of improvement was made. Neither does it offer value for your money - we paid Php 2,200 for a Deluxe Twin room with breakfast for two. It was 600 pesos more than a Standard room but we figured, hey, since breakfast was included and it's in the middle of nowhere, might as well get the Deluxe package.

It turns out, it only included standard and not buffet breakfast. Not only that, the most expensive breakfast set you could get from their restaurant was priced at Php 150. So we paid an extra 600 for breakfast that was valued, at most, 300 pesos (for two people). The set included coffee or tea and when we asked the server if we could get iced tea or juice instead, they said we couldn't since they use mineral water to prepare those drinks. What a joke.

Good points:
- Resort staff in general were friendly and accommodating

Bad points:
- The prices at their "Sabina" restaurant were affordable, yes, but the quality of food from a carinderia is better. When we had dinner there, we overheard the table behind us say that the juice they ordered tastes like watered-down Tang.
- We were told before checking in that the water park is closed during weekdays and that we could only use the main pool. Fair enough. We checked in on a Friday afternoon and figured that we could use the water park before we checked out the next day. To our dismay, we found the main pool filled with murky water, fallen leaves and bits of styrofoam balls floating in it. It was too scary to take a dip.
- When we attempted to swim the next day, we were happy to see resort staff cleaning up the pools. We were told that the water park opens at 09:00, giving us plenty of time to swim. Unfortunately though, they opened the water park at 11:00 and we only got to swim in the main pool.
- The cabana that we stayed in was cozy. My only complaint is that it only has a handful of pin lights to light the room and the bathroom only had one pin light by the sink - taking a shower feels creepy.
- The resort is located in the middle of nowhere so you're really forced to eat at their shabby resto.

I wouldn't recommend this resort for couples but if you're bringing kids with you, I'm sure they'll enjoy it.

Great place to stay in Dagupan, it's located out of the town proper but to me its very much worth the extra effort. The rooms & amenities are top notch - seems like no expense was spared in considering guests' comfort. Very friendly hotel staff. The waterpark is also quite an attraction and great for a family getaway. Overall, the food was slightly above-average, but the longganisa is worth trying.

  • Liked — high quality of room amenities
  • Disliked — a bit far from the city proper

We did not stay at their hotel but went to their waterpark for a day. The waterpark itself is nice, the kids had enjoyed the pool and slides.
The thing that disgusted me was NO FOOD AND BEVERAGES to be brought in. Either you buy there or get dehydrated. They just want your money inside. We were there end of May, 27 of us including kids. It was so hot and humid, can't hydrate the kids often. The restaurant is all the way at the back and just have to consume your food and drinks there. They did not even have enough choices---no juices--- with kids in there. I just don't get it!
FREQUENT HYDRATION---- that's what we need when your at the park and very hot right.
Managers/ supervisors are not even available for comments and complaints.Their staffs are not even friendly and helpful.. Not recommending it and I'm not going back with this kind of policy. Poor us Filipinos,we just let these people do this to us. How can we boost Tourism in the Philippines if we're taken advantage of.

I've always loved this resort! The people are warm & friendly. The whole place is very well-maintained. The water park was so much fun! And oh, the butterfly kingdom was a sight to behold. And the food at the restaurant was so delicious and very reasonably priced. This is one place I will never fail to stay in the next time I visit the Philippines with my family.

We went to Dagupan to visit family, but wanted an air conditioned hotel with lots of room and decent bathrooms. With that as our baseline, the Leisure Coast Resort provided that and more. There were security guards at the office and at the entry. There was a restaurant with OK food, but very attentive staff. There is a computer with internet access in the front lobby for a low 40 pesos (around 80 cents) and hour. We had a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom unit with a sitting room and small refridgerator. There were air conditoners in each bedroom and the sitting room. The bedrooms were spacious with safes and closets. The sitting room had a TV with cable stations.

There also was a waterpark that was very well-maintained and supervised. Our 8 year old son and my 6 year old cousin had a blast. Admission to the waterpark is part of your hotel package. There is a pitch and putt golf course and a driving range. (we did not play, since it was raining.) The price of the resort is higher than the local hotels, but you do have more amenities.

Be warned about the term "resort," It is not anywhere near the beach, the water park was only opened on the weekend during rainy season (which was when we were there), the phones did not work (because the phone lines were out from a typhoon), the towels were pathetically thin, & the TV remote was broken. There was a jacuzzi in the one bathroom, but it was broken. The showers have weak water pressure and you cannot drink the water. (again, not the resorts fault, it is a fact of the region. They did provide us with ample bottled water). The rooms are clean, but sparsely decorated, like a Motel 6.

The staff tried their best to correct things that are correctable, We needed an electrical transformer and they provided it immediately. Our safe was inoperable, and they fixed it immediately. You are in a good situation, but you are still in the Third World! The broken remote control and broken jacuzzi, on the other hand, were not repaired while we were there because there was no one available to repair them.

You are located only a short distance from the city of Dagupan, but be warned that the traffic makes everything seem farther than it is. You also are not that far from the beach, but you need a car to get there. It still is nicer to stay here than the hotels in the city if you are looking for more relaxation. The hotels in the city are in the midst of horrible traffic congestion and foul fuel exhausts! On the other hand, you are isolated at the Leisure Coast Resort and do need your own car, since the passage of Jeepneys and motorized tricycles is less frequent.

On our return to Manila, we stayed at the Peninsula. There is no comparison. But when you consider what is available in the area of Dagupan, we would return to the Leisure Coast Resort.

  • Liked — big rooms and airconditioned
  • Disliked — electric, phone, water problems that are part of the regional infrastructual problems
  • Tips/Secrets — Do not go during rainy season. Most of the resort features are inoperable during this time. You still pay for them, yet cannot use them.
