“Pleasant resort in a magical beach.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

Perfect name for this resort, it is pleasant but not more than that. It is expensive as everything in Ngapali but the beach is so fantastic that in the end it is 100% worthwhile. Area of the beach is super nice, the stone walk connected bar & restaurant 100m inside the ocean is breathtaking. Room amenities and breakfast are very nice. It is one of the cheapest options to stay right on the beach. But too expensive for what it is.

Room Tip: Not all the bungalows are equally sea front, mine was kind of lateral. Ask for a frontal one.

We stayed here in Feb for three days and had a beach view from the 2nd floor. Rooms are very comfortable and clean with air con/fan. We didn't stay in the room much as the beach was lovely with the many local beach restaurants to also dine in or watch the sunset from. The resort had a restaurant for breakfast (which is the one thing that was mediocre) but the island restaurant made up for this with sweeping views and great seafood on offer. We hired bikes from the resort and went exploring at the local fishing villages, it was such a sight to wake up and wander down the beach and see the locals with the baskets of catches of the day. We will definately come back again

Room Tip: Any room would be good as all rooms have a view

Stayed here for the final 4 nights of 21 in Burma. Couldn't have chosen a better place. It is at the southern end of the beach and just about the final hotel heading south from the airport. There are a few negatives - there is no pool, which doesn't bother us but some may find disappointing, the grounds are a bit "rough" and not quite as nicely manicured as some of the other resorts up the beach and the area does seem to attract a number of feral dog packs. Apart from this the resort has one major advantage in that there is no such thing as a "bad" room - all the rooms face the sea and have an identical view. I noticed that in some of the other resorts there were beach-view bungalows and then others that were set well back in the resort with no sea view. Breakfast was good and the chef prepares different items for the buffet each day. Other reviewers have mentioned the smell of drying fish from the nearby village, but we didn't smell anything.
The thing we enjoyed most about staying at Ngapali beach was the fresh seafood. The resort has its own restaurant on a little island but when I checked out the prices I noticed that the same things were 3 times more expensive than nearby restaurants. So I figured it's the same fish, landed at the same time (about 6am) and bought from the same market so we ate at either the shacks on the beach next to the resort, or on the road behind the hotel - there are two restaurants and the Blue Sea was excellent. The advantage of eating at the restaurants (as opposed to the shacks) is that if more than 2 groups turn up then the staff can cope with the crowd!
If/when we return to Burma I would love to stay here again.

Lovely hotel, simply DEFINE beach! Looking for heaven? Found it.
Ngapali beach is amazing, it is far reaching, clean, the water is clean, seaweed free and mill pond like in the mornings, even in the afternoon when there was a slight swell it was not rough by any means, just slight waves.
The vendors walk up and down selling fresh fruit and are adorable, no hassle, just wanting to say hello.
The hotel was modern, clean, spacious with comfy beds and hot showers. Breakfast was vast, with several cereal options, then a soup option, then between 7-10 other hot food options - plus the obligatory 'eggs any way' which appears to be a staple of the Burmese tourist breakfast offering.
Cannot wait to return, would definitely stay here again.

Perfect location at the south end, near a typical fishing village. We had a spacious room on first floor with splendid views all day long on beach and surroundings. A pity we didn't stay longer than 3 nights ! Staff very friendly - the rooms were cleaned twice a day. Warm welcome with a bunch of flowers ! Breakfast buffet asian style. In front of the hotel on an inlet was the restaurant Pleasant View , nicely located with beautiful sights but the same quality of food is available ( and much cheaper ) in the numerous local restaurants, as well on the beach as behind the hotel. Go for the fresh fish, lobsters and prawns, they are simple but nicely prepared.

Room Tip: The deluxe sea view was super !

Nice place to stay! Small and thus very cozy. The room door (1st floor) opens to the beach. Running water is provided to flush sand from your feet at the entrance. Cleaning 2 times a day. A flash light is provided in case you want to walk in the evening. Breakfast is regular, but the restaurant on the small island is excellent. Clean beach. Staff is polite and helpful.
Located the last on the beach, not far from the fishing village.
Highly recommended.

We had been travelling around Burma and wanted some total relaxation time at the end of our travels and Pleasant View Resort was absolutely perfect for this. The resort is at the southern end of the long Ngapali beach – we were met by hotel staff for the short transfer ride back to the resort (included in the price) and is a perfect location as you get very few people walking past this southern part of the beach.

We had a ground floor room which was absolutely stunning – two huge beds, gorgeous private terrace at front – you literally walk out your door and in a matter of steps you are on beautiful Ngapali beach.

Housekeeping was exceptional and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming.

The buffet breakfast was amazing (the best we had anywhere we stayed in Burma) with lots of local and western choices, including a lot of choices for vegetarians (which we both are).

Apart from breakfast we ate outside the resort – there are 3 or 4 beach shack restaurants close by which serve good food, however there are 2 restaurants directly on the road behind Pleasant View which are exceptional (Friendship Restaurant and Blue Sea) – we tended to visit the beach shacks during the day for a Myanmar beer and snack and the road side restaurants in an evening.

I visted the resort spa for a facial which was excellent and very reasonably priced, however just a couple of minutes walk along the beach there are beach massages which were cheaper than the spa offers (90 minutes for 10,000 kyat) and my husband had two excellent massages there.

Ngapali beach life is as chilled as it comes – we started every day with a 4 mile walk to the other end of the beach and back, but apart from that we did very little, apart from sunbathe, read and play in the sea.

Pleasant View Resort and Ngapali beach are as close to paradise as it gets.
