“What did we miss.............”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013

Had really been looking forward to coming here because of the favourable comments on Trip Advisor.

We do not exactly share those comments

We enjoyed the Bruchetta, the Beef Bourguignon and salad, but the steak was dreadful.

Avoid the wine, unless you are familiar with what you are ordering.
We had a bottle of both red and white and thought the white was well past it's "use by" date.

Nice relaxing setting in a quiet back street.
We would probably return for the Beef Bourguignon alone.

I am sorry you don t like the place, but one thinks, i open the wine in front of you, you try it, you say it s ok, if you tell me it s past, i will change the bottle immediately. It s like this in all the restaurant in a world, but if you don t tell me, i can t drink in your glass to know.
I hope you have a pleasant trip in laos.
Richard

“Loved the beef, great change”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2013

We loved the opportunity to enjoy a meal of beef, mashed potato, salad and bread all washed down with a lovely red wine. Wine served in a beautiful decanter, great background music playing. Quite a rustic styled restaurant off the main street, very small menu however I am sure everyone would go here for the beef, yum forgot to mention we shared brushetta with mushroom and cheese, very tasty. Attentive service a very pleasant evening.

“Amazing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2013

Asian food is great and it takes quite a bit to say this, but after 5 months of travelliing through South-East Asia, the meal at Café de Paris was probably the best we have had within these months. My boyfriend had the Boeuf Bourguignon, I had the Filet, both came along with delicious mashed potatoes and red vine sauce. We also got salad with a delicious sauce and fresh, warm bread. The owner - a really hospitable French man - asked us twice if we wanted more salad and / or bread. What good customer service! The price is higher than at the other restaurants in Vang Vieng but honestly, most of the other restaurants really don't serve nice food. We were happy to pay a bit more - it was so much worth it: best value for price in Vang Vieng! Will come back!

“Very good boeuf bourguignon, and nice atmosphere!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

After a few months away from home, it was really nice to eat "french cuisine" again! The boeuf bourguignon is very good, quite big, and served with home-made purée, warm baguette, and salad! My friend ate the kidneys, and was delighted with his meal. Richard, the owner, was so welcoming and offered us a glass of wine at the bar. Then he lent us his bike to go in the town center! We spent a really pleasant time in this restaurant, and would definitely recommend it!!
