My names Rob, basically my girlfriend and I traveled to Laos for 4 weeks. I wish I had internet access and could have booked accommodation in advanced, to read these reviews.
My experience at easy Go Hotel was no better then some of the others I have read
The price is what got us sucked in. Originally the staff seemed friendly and helpful. My girlfriend and I bought a double delux room.
We had been tubing during the day, got dinner and returned to our room after locking our door we feel asleep soon after. In the middle of the night, i was woken by Abbie tapping me on my back. I woke to see the front door wide open of our room. Then I heard something from the corner of our room.
I jumped up and a man ran out of the room very quickly.
I walked outside and put the light on, turned to see all our luggage on the ground, everywhere and Abbie's wallet open - missing was $150 pounds.
I re locked the door and stayed up for the rest of the night.
By morning, we checked out in looking for another hostel.
I told the man at reception what happened - i felt it had to be a staff of the hostel, as we had locked the door when we entered that night, or the locks were rather dodgey and he laughed at me.
Out of anger, I said it wasnt good enough. We felt unsafe, aside the fact our bathroom was dirty and only had cold water. I said I wanted a discount.
very quickly he turned quite nasty. Snatched my 100kip from my hand and walked away.
I strongly advice other travelers to read these reviews and take this seriously.
Cheap prices don't always mean good, safe service and rooms.
I hope this happens to no one else.
