“Cheap!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2014

You kinda get what you pay for here, at £1.80 each a night for a double room it's super cheap. However our hot water didn't work in the (dirty) bathroom and the room itself wasn't clean either. The bed was clean though so that's a start! The guy on reception is friendly/funny/mental and it was a good price to book onwards travel through him. Our room was on the ground floor and since next door is a building site we got woke up at 6.30 every morning with it sounding like someone was literally throwing lumps of wood around our room, not the guesthouses fault I guess but just a warning! If you're just passing through and on a budget then I would suggest staying here but not for any longer than a couple of nights.

I booked a private triple room in Nana Guestouse, while travelling in Laos. The room was simple, but confortable, with a private bathroom, for a very cheap price. However, the hot water was almost never working and the wifi was not working in the room. Credit card payment was not available, although the hostel web page states it is. The "included" breakfast was actually only coffee and, sometimes, bananas. The staff was very friendly and helpful, but the receptionist was the only one who could speak English. He also helped us with our bookings to visit other places in Laos. Overall, it was not a bad place to stay, and still a good value for money.

The best part of Nana's Guesthouse is the location, although it's hard to not have a nice location in Vang Vieng because it's such a small town. When we first arrived they had "lost" our reservation and we had to argue with the receptionist to finally get another room. The mattresses were hard but it was difficult to sleep anyway due to the very thin walls and glass-less windows. The bathroom was not great, but what you would expect in a guesthouse. It was cheap, but I think I could have found higher quality for the same price.

we stayed there for 2 nights. The staff is friendly and has many trips and bus offerings. The hotel is not extraordinary clean, the matresses were really not confortable and we had troubles getting hot water. However dorms have twin beds (and not bunk beds) and for the price we paid (about 20000 kip, we were discounted) it was great value !

We stayed for 3 nights in the dorm room. The beds felt cheap and firm, like usual. The bathroom was pretty gross, the water from the sink went straight on the floor, the tub had nasty stains and there were lots of little bugs...it was less than 30,000 kip per night, but I bet you could find a better place for the same price.

I would recommend Nana for sure, as the building has caracter, the rooms are nice, the owner Thi is realy friendly and helpful and there is free coffee/tea and bananas in the morning. I didn't score excellent on my review for one reason only: i booked via the internet and paid a deposit for the room, which i didn't need to because the price of the room if you walk in, is the one minus the deposit so do yourself a favour and just send an email to Thi or call but don't go via hostel world kinda sight, just a waste of money.
