“Loved It!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2008

This was my families first time to visit Zion National Park. I used AAA and trip advisor to find a hotel. I actually had booked another motel in Springdale, but after looking at the pictures of the hotel on trip advisor and reading the reviews canceled and booked Zion Motel. The service was great. The rooms are very big. We stayed in #1 for 4 nights and had a fully loaded kitchen. We made breakfast a couple of days in our room. The full size beds weren't too comfy but tolerable. For our last night we stayed in #21 had 2 queen size beds, no kitchen though. The rooms are very large and you have parking spaces right next to your room; which was great because it snowed our first night there. The heating system worked very well, we had to turn it off after about 30 mins. because it would get too hot. There is no coffee shop or restaurant at the hotel, but they are located within walking distance 0.5-1mile. The hotel is located a 1/2mile from the entrance to Zion. The husband and wife in the office infomed us that the owners of the hotel are thinking about closing it down. I hope not I will stay here again during my next visit.

Dear Travelers!

The most recent review stated that we might be closing down. THIS IS A MISCOMMUNICATION! We have just recently shut down our market next door (Zion Park Market). We have leased the market space to two new businesses— The Springdale Candy Co. and Simply Birkenstocks. We are NOT and have no intentions of closing our motel doors. We are now focusing strictly on the motel. We have recently remodeled our motel lobby. As a convience to our guests, we have added a "mini-mini" mart in motel lobby for basic needs as well as a computer station to check emails. We have also remodeled two more rooms this year, as we try to do every couple of years. We hope to continue serving you for many, many years to come and look forward to seeing you here in our beautiful little town! Happy travels!!

Many thanks,
The Young family at Zion Park Motel

This place is not meant to be a high class motel but it is a great budget place to stay at. The rooms are very clean with owners who are polite. This hotel also has a great location with many of the town's restaurants and stores in walking distance. If you are just looking for a clean place to stay while visiting Zion, this would be a great choice.

My husband and I stayed here October 22-25th of 2007. This is a very basic motel for the price of $89 but very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful in suggestions of where to eat. This little motel is close to everything down town and right on the shuttle stop to Zion. There is a mini market right next door as well as a laundry facility just a few doors down.
For the amount of time one stays in their room while in Zion this is a neat little spot. Views of the cliffs are right out your door/window.

  • Liked — Economical and close to Zion Park and downtown Springdale
  • Disliked — The shower in the next room sounded like it was in our room!

I have nothing but great things to say about this place! We chose the family suite and to be honest it was more than I expected. It was actually closer to a small apartment than a regular motel room. With two bedrooms, more than enough closets, a large sofa, a recliner and what actually blew me away was the fully supplied kitchen. We could have cooked our Thanksgiving dinner with no problem! Another plus was the central heat for the entire place (two bedrooms’ +) since the temps were in the low 50's in the day time and dropped into the low 30's at night. The outside grounds and facilities were what you would expect for a motel at the price we paid, but we were totally satisfied. There were five of us (all adults) and we had no problem with sleeping arraignments. We traveled with my sister-in-laws family and we would all hang out in the evenings in our place. The location of the motel to the entrance to Zion was so that we would make several trips to the park throughout the day. The only disappointment was the fact that we were only there for two nights. I am definitely recommending both Zion Park Motel and Zion National Park to everyone. Can't wait to return.

Stayed for 1 night. It was as expected - a basic, dated room but it was incredibly clean and cheap (for Springdale). The guy who checked us in could have been a little more welcoming. Another lady served us in the evening and she was kind enough to let us access the attached market next door to get some drinks, even though it was closed (the motel and market are run by the same people). The location of the motel was excellent for restaurants and the national park.

This is not a luxurious place to stay but for functional accommodation close to Zion it is perfect. We would stay again if we needed to.

Well, this place certainly isn't a 4-star hotel -- it would properly be classified as a 2-star motel -- but it delivers good value for money. Springdale is a fairly expensive place to stay -- the "better" properties are well over $100 in season -- but the Zion Park Motel is generally less than 80 bucks. And while the decor isn't as fancy as its expensive cousins, you will probably get more of what you need at this place. Like a clean, largish room in a good location for touring Zion Park, along with some useful extras -- including an in-room fridge and microwave, the town's largest "supermarket" on premises, the town's laundromat on premises, a small salt water pool with an old-fashioned slide the kids will like, the town's most popular restaurant (Pizza and Noodle) across the street and other restaurants nearby, and a shuttle bus stop to Zion Nat'l Park in front of the motel. You also get great hospitality from a family-run business that seems to sincerely appreciate your patronage and will go the extra mile to insure your comfort and happiness.

FWIW, unless you are going at a very leisurely pace, I would recommend against taking the shuttle to the Park (the one directly in front of the motel) and instead drive to the Vistor's Center or Museum and park there. The reason is that if you take the "Springdale Shuttle" you have to take 2 buses to get to the canyon instead of 1. The "in-park" shuttle (the one that starts at the Vistor's Center, and which you would have to transfer to anyway) also runs twice as often, so you might have to wait for the Springdale shuttle. I think most vistors could see the park in 2 full days, and those on a manic pace could see the highlights in 1. By then, you'll be ready to move on to other nearby national parks.

We stayed in the family suite at the Zion Park Motel for four nights in early June. Our experience in this motel and at the park was wonderful. The suite was spacious (two bedrooms, living area, and a full kitchen) and very clean. Our family of five did not feel like we were right on top of each other like we often do in a regular hotel room. The price was very reasonable and the staff was helpful and friendly. The pool was somewhat small but clean and a welcome retreat from the 100 degree temperatures. The adjacent market was convenient and, even though it was more expensive than a regular grocery store, it saved us money because we could eat some of our meals in our suite. The motel's location was convenient to all the restaurants in the town and near a shuttle stop. We really did not have to get in our car much after we arrived. Zion National Park was heavenly and the nice lodging was really just icing on the cake!
