“Great Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

Desert Pearl was such a relaxing place to stay at. The location is awesome...no car needed to travel through town or Zion National Park. The shuttle system is out in front of the hotel. We were able to walk to restraunts, shops and general store. The staff at the Hotel was friendly and very helpful. Our room on the first floor had a patio that faced the Virgin River. THe patio was nicely furnished and clean. The room was spacious for a family of four. We had a mini kitchen in our room with updated appliances. The grounds were gorgeous with great views and well groomed.
This hotel is definately a winner!!!

The title of my review really says it all! All the reviews about the Desert Pearl being beautiful, well situated and well appointed are right. The rooms are beautiful with hard wood floors, a sitting area, room to move and upgraded bathrooms. Not your typical National Park Lodging! The shuttle stop right outside the inn is convenient, and the proximity to the center of town and restaurants is great. The pool area is very nice as is the hot tub. They were full of kids and families when we were there.
What is not great about the hotel (and caused us to check out after a day) is a first floor room. Take heed to the reviews here that say you should not check in if your rooms is on the first floor! I was disappointed when we checked in to find that we were in a first floor room. But, then I thought really how bad could it be? Well, apparently we had a heard of elephants in the room above us that were clomping around until 1:30am then started back up at 4:30 am. Needless to say I started my long awaited vacation with a lack of sleep and a headache. And our 2 kids (under 6) didn't sleep much either, and if you have young children, you can imagine what the next day was like! I honestly don't think the people upstairs were loud, but because of the hardwood floors the noise really reverberated into our 1st floor room.
And to top it off, the Wi-Fi/internet connection is non-existent. Internet access was at speeds like in the early 80's. Our kids go to bed early and my husband and I like to surf the web, read up on things we wanted to do this next day, check the weather, upload photos, etc. We couldn't do any of that. We just stared into the darkness and listened to the pounding upstairs. My husband even went to inquire about the wifi and the front desk even said it was pretty poor.
I know wifi isn't important to everyone, but in this day and age it is a factor for some people, so I did want to bring this up and make sure people are aware of it!
I think had we had a 2nd floor room with great internet access this review would be a lot different, it can really be a 4 or 5 star property one day!

Room Tip: 2nd floor only. Run the other way if you get a first floor room (unless they can guarantee there is...

Desert Pearl Inn was exactly waht we were looking for: a great hotel in a wonderful location. Our room was clean and lovely decorated, with views towards the pool and the beautiful mountains. The location is excellent, right by the shuttle stop for Zion National Park, and close to restaurants and shops. The pool, and especially the hot tub, was great to relax after hiking in the park.

We booked this as part of holiday touring the canyons and visiting Las Vegas. Our room was gorgeous...ground floor, large patio with furniture and a fifteen yard walk across the grass to the Virgin River, where you could paddle or ride a tube down from Springdale. Extremely well fitted bathroom and kitchen, with lovely wooden floor...all spotlessly clean. The toilet didn't flush and it was fixed within half an hour.
Lovely views and humming birds flying around. We arrived early and were booked in straight away. Had the shuttle bus stop right outside and walking distance to lots of restaurants. What a pity we only stayed for one night before driving back to Vegas. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The hotel was fully booked and no wonder. I had to grade the restaurant and the fitness centre but we didn't use the restaurant and don't think it had a fitness centre - just walk around Zion Park to get fit! If I returned to Springdale, I wouldn't bother trying anywhere else. It was fabulous.

Room Tip: I would choose a river view without a doubt....

We visit Zion every year, and this is by far our favorite of all the hotels we've stayed in. The rooms are big, clean, and have great amenities. The pool and grounds are beautiful. The river access is great. There's a small coffee shop on the premises, and you're within walking distance of everything else you need. Love this place!

On the trifecta tour of the canyons with the last stop being Zion before heading back to Vegas. We had stayed in the parks at North Rim and Bryce, but it was booked a the Zion Lodge, so made reservations for Desert Pearl. What a treat after staying in fairly rustic rooms. The rooms was like a studio apartment. We loved the kitchen (especially the toaster oven and refrigerator). The bathroom was very spacious and you always have to love a quiet seat! The back deck was spectacular with a view of the mountain and of the river. Very peaceful. Conveniently located to the shuttle. Will definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: The rooms along the river also have a view of the mountain. I think we were in room 606.

We recently stayed overnight at the Desert Pearl Inn for a visit to Zion National Park. The Inn exceeded our expectations in every way. Check-in was pleasant and efficient, and the front desk clerk provided a list of recommended restaurants in Springdale. The room, on the ground floor of the 400 building, was spacious, clean, and modern. The bathroom featured a separate room for the toilet, bidet, and shower/bath, and the room itself had a full kitchenette with fridge, sink, dishwasher, toaster oven, and microwave, as well as dishes, glasses, and silverware. The back of the room opened on a large lawn (perfect for kids to run around) that ended at the edge of the Virgin River. The pool and hot tub were terrific, too. There was a small cafe and gift shop open for breakfast. There was a stop for the Zion shuttle right out in front of the hotel (the Desert Pearl/Post Office stop). We couldn't have been happier with our choice.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that opens onto the lawn/river.
