“Great place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013

My sister and I stayed at this beautiful place last week. It exceeded our every expectation. The grounds are gorgeous: bearded iris, well manicured lawns, poppies, daisies, just a well cared for garden. Our room was spacious, clean, and just a short 5 minute walk to the Ranger Station. The staff was sweet and helpful. The gourmet teas and coffee was an added plus. There are outstanding restaurants right next door and across the street. So convenient. Can't wait to come back@

The room is beautiful. Everything you would want in a luxory room and the Entrance to Zion National Park is only a few minutes walk. Great food nearby and the Hot Tub is perfect. The grounds and garden are well kept and you can sit on your balcony looking at the majestic cliffs all around you. As we walked home from the IMAX theatre next door, there was a deer munching on the lawn next to the river. Amazing!

Room Tip: The Fitness Center was hiking Angel's Landing in the National Park. Wonderful experience!

Cliffrose Lodge was immediately outside the main Zion NP gate. Accommodations were very good with great view outside our end unit window. Included breakfasts at next door cafe were excellent. We found less crowded, out-of-the-way Zion hikes on the East Rim near the Zion east gate and the Taylor Creek Trail in the separate Kolob Canyons area.

Great location on the Virgin River, close to the park enterance, beautiful canyon views. Nice swimming pool area and spacious grounds. Easy walk to restaurants. Great cafe (Cafe Soleil) next door that make the best capuccinos. Staff very helpful and accomodating. Will definitely stay here the next time I'm lucky enough to go to Zion.

We spent 3 nights here during cool spring weather. Grounds were lovely- they'd probably be spectacular a bit later in the season. We ended up with a canyon view room, since river view rooms were all booked. Enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the late evening light on the mountains. If you have the option book a river view room, or at least ask which rooms are over the parking lot as opposed to the garden area (105 and 104 are over parking lot--our room 103 bridged both.). Pool with fountain looked lovely, although it was too cool for us to use. Coffee, tea and cocoa are available in office, along with a microwave.

Although Internet is free, service was intermittent and wireless did not work at all with iPhone 5.

Beds were comfortable, pillows were lumpy. All very clean.

Room Tip: Avoid 105 and 104

We spent 2 nights here in April. Since we booked last minute 3 weeks before our stay, we only had a choice of a double room with a canyon view. We ended up with room 112 - first floor without any particular view but the parking lot but since we were out all day in the park, it really was not a big deal.

Since breakfast was not included in the rate, we ate next door at the Cafe Soleil. Our other dinner choices were very close by - Oscars Cafe and Whiptail Grill. We really loved the location of the hotel.

As for the closeness to the park, we could not have asked for anything better. There was a Springdale shuttle available but since it was not busy season, we parked at the visiting parking in Zion and took the Zion shuttle. There was plenty of parking int he park.

The room was very comfortable and felt clean but did feel small. There is a mini fridge in the room. The room where the toilet and bathtub is felt cramped and is small. The sink is separate from the bathtub but is convenient when 2 people try to get ready. There was a flat panel tv in our room and the DirecTV in the room is a nice touch.

I did feel the room rate was a little high but it can be overlooked based on the close proximity to the park. Overall, I would stay here again.
