“Great room, clean, quiet, what a view!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

Stayed five nights while visiting Zion. Stayed in room 101. Each morning could sit outside and watch sunrise over the mountains. Breakfast was good and included. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were big with separate sitting area. The location is also great because you are not in the middle of downtown. Free city shuttle stops in front of hotel every 15 minutes, which is very convenient.

Room Tip: Rooms that face mountains you can watch sunrise

Dear guest, thank you so much for staying with us. We are very pleased with the updates to the Watchman building, and it seems that you enjoyed all the amenities, including the sunrise (we threw that in for free!). We have tried to make the breakfast as varied as possible, so that there is something for everyone. We also love being out of the rush of downtown Springdale, it is much more peaceful. And we have eight acres for our guests to enjoy, so our property doesn't have that hemmed in feeling.

We thank you for your comments, and hope that you will stay with us whenever you visit Zion National Park.

The Driftwood is on the south end of Springdale with a shuttle stop right outside, so you never need get in your car. The brand new rooms, called Court of the Patriarchs, are spacious, nicely furnished with beautiful views and very quiet effective A/C. The landscaping immediately around these new units, however, is sadly neglected with tall weeds growing in abundance. Look beyond at the beautiful pastures and magnificent Zion Canyon. We found the staff very gracious.

A totally wonderful place to stay if you are visiting Zion. The service was superb. The clerks at the front desk were friendly, polite and very helpful. The rooms were clean and appeared relatively new or updated. It was extremely hot during our visit, and the AC worked very well. The grounds were well kept and the pool was refreshing. I would definitely recommend this property. I also found it to be inexpensive compared to surrounding hotels. I felt like what I paid was worth it. I can't say that very often. My son and I were driving from MI to LA where he is starting a new job. We took one day off from driving to see Zion ~ such a wonderful decision.

We stayed in the Watchman building and had a king suite. The view from the balcony was wonderful. The bed was very comfortable; room was clean and updated. The area is quiet and peaceful, and only a short drive to restaurants. The full breakfast which was included in the hotel was very good.

If I was just rating the room...it would be 4.5 stars. The room very nice, new and a tremendous view. Bad part about the room, quite a few bugs, from flying ants to spiders. The little mini fridge was tucked into a cabinet...with a door and no vent, every time you opened it you would be greeted by a blast of hot air, we ended up leaving the open about 6 inches so heat would not build up. Service staff - front desk was very nice and helpful, but the maids.....we left our "Do not Disturb" on the door as we wanted to sleep in...at 8 AM, maid knocks on the door then leaves, but only 2 doors down where she proceeds to have a VERY loud conversation with another maid for about 20 minutes. The website - proudly touts a restaurant...one of the reasons we chose Driftwood, but the restaurant had been closed for "a while" (could never get an approximate date) and they hadn't gotten around to updating the site. The breakfast was adequate, but again, the staff needs a bit of work. The staff member that was refilling the Fruit bar literally pushed 2 people out of the way so he could refill another item, no "Excuse Me" or "Pardon" just pushed 2 ladies out of the way!
We stayed in the Court of the Patriarch rooms and the air conditioning was super cold and quiet. Had friends who stayed in "Angel's Landing" and they were unable to sleep because the air conditioning was too loud.

We stayed here for two nights whilst visiting Zion National Park. The hotel is really quiet with excellent facilities. Breakfast was very good, the room was virtually brand new and spotlessly clean. The views from the room were breath taking. We paid for a premium room and were in room 514 which I'd recommend asking for as it's in a quiet block of four rooms at the bottom of their site. The pool was beautiful too. Can't really fault this place - shame that Zion itself was so busy but that's not the hotels fault! The free shuttle up to the Park entrance is right outside the hotel entrance so we didn't need to use our car at all.

Room Tip: 514 was ours. Any of the 5XX rooms would be just as good.

Dear guest, thank you for choosing to stay with us. We are glad that you noticed the thought that went into the design of the new buildings, we think they are great. The views toward Zion are stunning, and the rooms themselves are large, with lots of nice touches, such as the HVAC system, private patios or balconies, and separate tubs and showers. We do our best to provide all the comforts and conveniences that you would expect while on vacation, while also making you feel right at home with our great customer service.

We hope that you will stay with us whenever you visit Zion.

The Driftwood is a nice place to stay. I would have given it 5 stars except the breakfast in the morning was not quite right. The hot food, including eggs and waffles, was always lukewarm to cold - even when we got there when it first opened. It didn't seem to bother the other guests, but it did me. The staff was willing to zap the food in a microwave for me, so that took care of the problem, but still, there was clearly a problem with their warming dishes. I did mention it to the front desk so hopefully they have fixed that by now. But otherwise, the beds, linens, sheets and towels were all first-rate and very comfy, and the mini-fridge and microwave in the room were very convenient. After a long day of hiking, the hot tub was great. Our room looked out at the parking lot, so there wasn't much of a view, but then it cost a little less too. We didn't spend much time in the room, so that didn't really matter. But if you like to sit and watch the sunset from a hotel room, then I would spring for a more expensive room with a view.

Dear guest, thank you so much for staying with us. We have fixed the problem with the warming dishes, we appreciate that you brought it to our attention. We are glad that you enjoyed the amenities in the room, and the hot tub, too! The building you stayed in was recently refurbished, and we think that the rooms are much more comfortable now. We hope that you will choose the Driftwood whenever you visit Zion National Park.
