“Terrible Stay”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2012

Very bad experience at this lodge. We booked 2 double bed rooms for 6 of us through phone and when we got there,he said no rooms. Instead we were given single bed 2 rooms. The manager is very rude and as no manners to speak to customers. Cockroaches flying around. No hot water. We had to fight for extra comforter to sleep on the Bed.
Would never recommend

Room Tip: Please avoid this lodge. There are much betters one inside the Park!

There are several things wrong with this place.
1. Rooms were awful..cockroaches flying around, bathroom door has no lock, stinky carpet
2. The hotel staff guy is rude and took really long to check in, and he was just plain rude
3. We paid for extra guest in each room but they gave no extra towel or blanket to sleep on the floor forget extra bed. We had to fight to get extra blanket!
4. Not worth the pain for a vacation. Please take your money and go elsewhere !

Reservations made approximately 2-weeks in advance via Hotelreservations.com. Upon arrival
the property looked like an average older motel. The owner/manager was friendly and helpful.
He checked us in early, but we left for Zion park before moving in. Later in the evening when we
returned to the room we found insulation on the floor (from a new A/C install), many areas of
plaster peeling, very worn curtains, and old (less than clean) furniture. A fridge was in the room
and a number of various toiletries were furhished. We were preparing to stay until pulling back
the sheets of one bed and found a "nest" of cockroaches. The second bed appeared to be clean,
but had worn and holed sheets. The manager showed us another room, it was better, but not
adequate. We moved to another hotel.

Room Tip: Do not make reservations at this hotel prior to inspecting the room.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2012 via mobile

We travel internationally for 6 months out of the year and stay in hostels all the way to 5 star resorts. The reviews were very entertaining, so we decided to check it out for ourselves. Here's what we found:
Pros:
Location is walkable to everything and even Zion NP.
Cheap
Hot water, clean sheets and towels.
Some extra toiletries were included
Fridge (supermarket next store with free microwave use and outdoor cafe tables)
New carpeting (they had just finished installing it)
Included simple breakfast
Wifi worked

Cons:
Check-in process was long with some language translation at times.
Pool area was closed, not sure why.
Worn exterior, deck area behind office should be condemned.
Motel porch lights were bright through the night (I put an eyemask on).
Bed and pillows quality were very basic.

No bugs or hairs were found. If you're on a budget and want to be close to Zion ask them to see your exact room first and then stay if you think it's up to your standards.

If your looking for an inexpensive place to stay this is the place, anyplace else in Springdale will cost you a lot more. The rooms are clean, the showers are hot, the WiFi is free, the continental breakfast is free, there's a fridge in the room and the view form the porch is awesome. Yes it's old, there's no wine list and the ice maker was busted but I came here for the park not the hotel.

Room Tip: Get a room as close to the office as possible for easier parking.

The good:
The motel is right beside the Zion entrance and the view is very nice.
There is a lot of toiletries. BTW we had shampoo from Best Western! ;)
Free wifi

The bad:
Very old motel, we don't care about age of the furniture but we like it clean. First impression when we got into the room, they put some powerful deodorant. About five minutes later we understood why, the room had a relent of sewer. We opened the window and went for diner. Once back it was still smelly!
Tiles from the floor near the shower are loose, and sticky.
The carpet of the room is dirty.

We paid almost half the price of the room by making our reservation on booking.com instead of the motel's website.

Room Tip: Make yourself a favour, if you can find a room somewhere else go there!
