“good comfortable accomidations”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

The Canyon Ranch Motel is a clean and comfortable place to stay at Zion. The hotel is located right at one of the Zion bus stops. It is a short walk to town and close enough that you can walk to the park if you wanted. The room was spacious, had a flat screen tv (though no HD signal) and a small fridge. I stayed closer to the back of the property but never had a problem with the wireless internet. The owners were nice and the price was reasonable. The walls are a bit thin but for the most part people were quiet. The beds were very comfortable and the air conditioner worked great. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a simple base to explore zion from. The hotel is simple and not a fancy five star resort with lots of bells and whistles so if you are looking for that, you will want to stay some place else. I was at the Canyon Ranch for 4 nights and was very pleased with the experience.

Great people is what makes great trips. This place is not the Four Seasons, and if you're prone to complain about not having the latest decour, go somewhere else.

As soon as we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the motel staff. We met Mark and Karen and they were fantastic people. In 15 minutes, Mark had told us everything we needed to know for our trip to be succesful - from dining options, best hiking trails - to must-know tips for the best Zion experience.

Thanks Mark for your sincere kindness and cordiality!

This is a great place to stay in Zion, shuttle service to Zion is across the street and you can walk to any restaurant in town. Nice folks, very clean and spending some time in the pool after a day of seeing Zion was perfect.

We were fortunate to get accommodation without booking, and getting into town late. We had a "cottage" which had a kitchen and table and chairs. It was nice to have the extra room. The room was at the front, but was very quiet. Also nice to have the big lawn area in the middle with chairs out. Very centrally located which meant we could go out for dinner, have a bottle of wine and not worry about driving. The bus out to the visitors centre stopped right outside the motel. Definitely would recommend

Great price. Location perfect. Nice greenbelt & pool area. Views are fantastic. In walking distance to resturaunts and Virgin river. Would highly recommend for the price. Rooms are a tad small. Next time I'll bring a bar-b-que.

We stayed two nights in a cabin that had a Queen bed, dining area, bathroom and a small kitchen then as we enjoyed it so much, added a third night in a cabin with no kitchen and two Queen beds and bathroom. The first and best cabin was No.5, the other No.2. Very close to Zion Park entrance, about a mile, swimming pool, outdoor jacuzzi, grassy area in front of cabins, picnic tables, swings, benches, etc. Great views all round!

Room Tip: Cabin No.5 has dining area and kitchen.

First, this hotel is right next to the Zion National Park entrance. After a less than five minute walk from the hotel, you can either be inside the visitor's center or at the shuttle bus stop. Because parking in the park can be sparse, this can be important. Due to the location, we did not have to drive once in the four days we stayed at the hotel. Second, the Canyon Ranch was well suited for our family. There was a king bed, a Murphy bed, and a pull-out couch. While the pull-out couch was not the most comfortable, and usually pull-out couches are not, the other two allowed for a good night sleep. There is also a kitchen, refrigerator, and dishwasher, which allows for preparing and eating meals in the room, if you select that option.
