“Definitely not the Canyon Ranch Spa... :-)”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Cute motel, cottage style, with several rooms contained with each building scatteerd in horseshoe around drive/property. beautiful surrounding views of Zion when outside of room. Basic Q Bed rooms are a little under Motel 6 quality and in need of a little TLC and updating. Small fridge is handy. Coffee available in Office, so no coffee maker in rooms. Free interent and TV is good feature. Very close to walk to a lot of things and can catch Zion shuttle very easy-right out front or short drive to park.

Room Tip: try to get larger room if possible

In a seven week trip around south-western USA is was one of our favourite places. Springdale is a lovely, friendly little town, with some excellent restaurants, set in the most spectacular scenery and within walking distance of Zion National Park; what could be better? Canyon Range Motel is a perfect base for exploring the area. The cabins are set around a very pleasant grassy area that is perfect for an evening beer watching the sun setting against the surrounding mountains. The cabins are ideal; very clean and comfortable, well maintained and furnished; the reception staff are friendly and helpful; there is a small swimming pool and hot tub; there is ample parking space right next to the cabins. Given the superb location and the quality of the cabins this place offers excellent value of money; we would love to come back but it is a long way from Suffolk, UK!

Springdale is small town hospitality, baby! You can walk everywhere, the shuttles are fantastic, and the views are second to none! Everyone knows everyone else, and after 3 days, they will know you! THe motel is not luxurious, but has everything you need. The highlight was the showers, which were perfect after a long day of hiking. I really liked the 'green' in the middle of the cottages, where you can rest on a old stlye lawn chair, or porch swing, and sip an afternoon libation. The owner lives on site (and was born there!), and is happy to tell you the inside scoop on things. We ate in 4 places for dinner. Mostly service was terrible, except at the bit and spur. THe service was friendly and efficient, and they accomidated our every request. It was nice to see Hannah, our waitress, out in the garden on the side of the restaurant, cutting Cosmos for our centerpiece.
For breakfast, Wilcat Willies (or something to that effect) was a clear winner in terms of food and service. Try to get Grant, who has been there for 20 years (8 of them working in the park), and can tell you about secret hikes that only the locals know. This motel is situated in a perfect spot, the view out your door is spectacular, and nobody bothers you. I am coming back!

Okay, Springdale isn't exactly Vegas -- heck, it's not even Moab -- but the off-the-highway layout of the Canyon Ranch Motel means it's extra peaceful and mellow. The rooms are arranged around a large green space with grass, trees, picnic tables, and porch swings -- perfect for a picnic. The pool and hot tub are located with great views of the red rock peaks. And the rooms are super clean, with comfy beds, great water pressure in the showers, and a minifridge. The staff at the front desk was very friendly and helpful, and they have coffee and a microwave for guest use. The location is also great -- if walking the half mile to the national park entrance is too taxing, there's a free shuttle that stops right out front; and there are some great restaurants within walking (or free shuttle) distance.

I'll admit that I'm not the sort of person who hangs out in hotel rooms -- I'm here to see the park! -- so I can't comment on the television. I felt that our room with one queen bed was plenty roomy for the two of us. This is my third stay at the Canyon Ranch over the past 10 years and it's my first choice when going to Zion.

Canyoon Ranch Motel is right outside of Zion National Park with the free Zion shuttle bus stop right at the curb in front of the property, so it is very convenient. The motel is set in a beautiful, lush green space of grass and huge shade trees, all surrouded by the magnificent peaks of Zion. Simply gorgeous! The rooms were extremely comfortable, very clean, and well appointed. The free coffee and tea throughout the day and evening were much appreciated. And the pool and hot tub were situated perfectly in the midst of the peaks of Zion. It was too chilly for the pool, but my husband and I enjoyed the hot tub each evening/night of our stay after our wonderful hikes through Zion and the surrounding area. The hot tub was especially wonderful at night with the clear Utah sky showing off God's great expanse of the heavens. We loved it here and will be back!

We stayed here for 2 nights 9-24 and 9-25. I love the motor court style of hotel. Nice to be able to carry things in easily and quickly. Bed was comfy. Shower worked fine with good water pressure. There were good restaurants within walking distance. Oscars is great for dinner, pioneer lodge was very good for breakfast. We sat by the pool one afternoon but the water was too cold to swim. Late in the season, so I get that. The one complaint was the office hours were kind of weird. We had to wait to check-in and just leave the key to check out. This is a great lower budget place to stay in Zion. We normally stay at the Desert Pear but were very happy here.

This was the first hotel we stayed in during a 2-week trip through the desert southwest. Because we had nothing to compare it to and we were excited to be starting our vacation, we were fine with it. However, after staying in 7 more hotels/motels/inns, this was one of our least favorite. Very tiny rooms, even tinier bathroom that you could barely move in, and no place to put your clothing or suitcases and no dresser!!! Pool area was nice and there was a nice yard area outside all the cabins with swings, chairs and picnic tables. Location was great, though, as you could walk to a lot of restaurants and the shuttle for the park was right in front of the hotel. However, I wouldn't stay here again.
