We had a great time with our guide Ethan from Zion Mountain School. One thing to know is that guides are not allowed to take groups into the park - so our climbing was outside of the Zion's National Park boundaries. It didn't bother me at all though, because we climbed and repelled the same rock formations that the park is famous for. My husband and I took our two boys with us, (ages 11 and 14), and they loved it! Ethan was careful to make sure they understood how all the equipment worked. I also really appreciated that he used redundant ropes to ensure our safety. I took this for granted until we ran into another group whose guide just hooked up two climbers (one to the main bolt, and one on the redundant bolt), and set them up to go at the same time. He was very distracted talking to us and our guide - not too interested in checking his group's tie ons or ropes. We felt immediately grateful to be with such a conscientious guide.
The area Ethan took us to was one of the coolest places I have been. Super spectacular! I kept saying, "this is the coolest place I have ever been!" Only to say the same thing 30 minutes later. Overall, this is a quality company and I will definitely hire them again.
