“gottta do it !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

The views are freakin' amazing ! Go early(to avoid sharing the Dome with too many people) to fool yourself into thinking you hiked for days to get there. It's an easy, well marked hike except for the last scramble up the Dome but SOOOOOO worth it !

“Easy hike with 360 degree views as a reward”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

A friend and I recently hiked up Sentinel Dome. The trailhead is on Glacier Point road not far form the end of the road. There is ample parking. This is an easy hike and would be suitable for families with kids as there are no dangerous cliffs but kids can scramble up the granite ledges to top of dome. The hike took about 2 1/2 hours round trip at a moderate pace. It is relatively flat on top with grandiose views of Yosemite valley and Yosemite Falls (no water in early Nov) and of course great views of the eternal granite icon, Half Dome. Bring camera.
We even saw a wolf close by just past the parking lot. After we stopped in Yosemite Valley to admire the golden fall foliage along Merced river. Highly recommended.

“awesome 360 degree views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

it's a short hike, only about 1 mile from the parking lot, which is on the road up to glacier point.
the views are totally awesome. from the top you can see half dome, el capitan, and on a clear day to infinity and beyond.
at the top there is still the fallen trunk of the old jeffrey pine that used to seeming grow right out of the rock.
the hike is well worth it.

“A strenuous walk leads to one of the most spectaculair views nature can offer”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012 via mobile

This is without a doubt the most rewarding view in Yosemite. A rather tiresome walk takes you up this dome, on which you will feel like you're standing on top of the world. Not too crowded, so you'll have some peace and quiet to enjoy the 360 overview.

“The highlight of our 25 day holiday!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

The hike up to the top of the dome is well worth it for the unbelievable views you get at the top. Plus because there is some walking to be done it means there are only a handful of people up at the top making it feel even more special as you have been somewhere the crowds have not. Once you are at the top of the dome you are rewarded with one of the most specular vistas we have ever seen, this place is really special and was the real highlight of our 25 day driving tour of the US West Coast.
