While the lodgings are a little bit expensive, the view and comfort is worth every penny.
The room was spacious yet cozy, and had three queen-size beds. Free WiFi is available in the lounge, as well as a cracking fire, seating and games. Plus free hot chocolate or coffee are available in the registration office all day.

Room Tip: We've been to Curry twice, in the Stoneman loft cabins. They were both very comfortable and spac...

We got what we paid for. It was okay.
But I don't think the staff in the front desk know well about other places in Yosemite national park. When we asked one of the staff the recommended spots for sunrise or sunset, we didn't get good info. It was really vague.

We stayed in a heated tent for 2 nights over thanksgiving.

The location was amazing, such a beautiful setting. However on arrival we learnt that many of the facilities were closed for the season, this included many food restaurants, bike hire and
even toilets which we found odd. There were way too many people in the resort for the lack of facilities... There was only pizza available for dinner also which did get boring.

The room was nice, I was a bit nervous as we had to put our belongings in a bear box, but there was no bears.. Although we did have a racoon sneak into ours when we had the door open for two seconds! The tent we had was nice came with a heater however due to the nature of the tent the heat rose and when we were in bed at night we froze! The communal bathrooms were kept clean and tidy. The wifi in the guest common area was very hard to connect to and would drop out often.

It would be a great place to stay in summer however they may want to think about closing things later in the season to accommodate all the tourists still in the park.

For sleeping in a tent, this experience was fantastic! We lucked out and got the last heated tent on site in mid-October (it was little colder than we expected.) Checking into Curry Village took about 30-40 minutes with quite the lineup. Front line staff were super friendly and helpful with our questions. Heated tent was definitely a plus, bed was hard but not unbearable and had lots of blankets. It was nice and clean and exactly what we were hoping for in regards to sleeping in a tent. The best part? Waking up in the morning and seeing the amazing scenery around us! We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

Room Tip: Get a heated tent - it was cool in mid October!

Yosemite National Park.
My friend often says that lots of National Parks are really beautiful, but that at Yosemite, God is just showing off!!
Truly, this is so.
I visit regularly and usually stay indoors at a room at the Yosemite Lodge at the Falls in the Valley. This trip, that was not an option, so I opted for Curry Village at the back of the Valley. Happily, the reservation agent informed me that he had available a hard sided one room wood cabin, complete with 2 beds, electricity and HEAT!! Shared bathrooms were less than 30 feet away.
This was my first stay in these cabins and I enjoyed the overall combination of rustic functionality and close proximity to all I needed, that I have already booked the same accommodations for next year!
Not all visitors enjoy Curry Village on their first stay. Most of the lodgings are in non-heated tent cabins. Basically, canvas stretched over simple wood frames and perched on cement slabs in a bear infested section of the Park. Even the most adventurous of travelers and hikers often find these spartan tent cabins to be less than what they were expecting on their first visit. I know that I was less than impressed, as were several friends that I have brought along over the years.
The all wood heated cabin, however, was actually more than what I expected and suited our needs quite well for the price.

The heated tent cabins were a terrific experience! I loved being in the wilderness but having the comfort of a bed and heat in my tent cabin. It made for a lovely trip. The staff is extremely friendly, making one feel welcome.
