We chose Cozy Bear after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor. Overall we were not disappointed. The alternatives for a stay in July are to stay with the crazy hordes in the Valley (no thanks), a crummy motel outside the park or splash out on the Awanahee Hotel. So for 5 of us the price was not much more than Curry Village tents - say no more. The cottages are convenient for both Glacier Point and the Valley floor, both 20-25 minutes away, roadworks permitting. Most of the other reviews hit the positive and negatives:
Positives - pretty good value compared to the alternatives,
your own space,
kitchen and BBQ facilities,
owners next door and available for help and advice
Negatives - many people have mentioned that the place could do with a good clean/dusting,
the decor can be a bit overwhelming (just too many bears),
owners next door and look right onto the property!
if yapping dogs bother you, then you might find the owner's two small dogs annoying.
But if I were to go back to Yosemite I would gladly stay there again.
