“Spectacular - Mindblowing Tioga Pass”

When I learned that we would be entering Yosemite National Park from the east via the Tioga Pass, I was a bit apprehensive. 10,000' above sea level. A winding road cut into the mountainside with few guardrails...this all made my palms and feet sweat just thinking about it. I'm from Wisconsin - not exactly a flatlander, but we don't have anything like this where I'm from...

However, the Tioga Pass is far from scary. I could see if someone was deathly panicked of heights...then there might be an issue. But the Tioga Pass is a wide two-lane road with many turnout areas to pull off and soak in the absolutely spectacular scenery.

Tioga Pass is the greatest road I've ever driven on...and I'm glad I did it! You will be too!

July, 2009, my daughter and I drove through Tioga Pass on our way to our vacation in Yosemite National Park. We spent several hours here in this mountain paradise and it was well worth the time. Granite mountains, clean mountain air and scenery abound here. Few roads I have driven compare to Tioga Pass. This is good alternate route to Yosemite and it really is worth seeing. I recommend the Tioga Pass highway highly.

The most scenic, most beautiful I have ever seen.
When you get a chance, please drive this pass and you will absolutely thank me for this. It is restricted from November-May( or April) due to snow. If you drive Summer time...Oh my...it's like a dream. You will see beautiful rock formation, river, beautiful greenery. Just gorgeous.
